Arbonne Products for the Cancer Patient
Lori Simpson Keller

I was diagnosed with Stage 3A Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (Breast Cancer) in September 2010. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy, reconstruction, 16 rounds of chemo (including Adriamycin, Cytoxan and Taxol) and 33 radiation treatments. I did well through treatment and I'm cancer-free and healthy today. Thank you, God!
Both my Medical and Radiation Oncologists told me to discontinue taking multi-vitamins, supplements and herbal products during treatment, to eat well, including twice the protein as is normally recommended daily. I was also told to not gain or lose weight during treatment. And because my cancer was estrogen-positive, I was told to eliminate soy completely. I worked closely with an Oncology Dietician. She recommended the book, Anti-Cancer, A New Way of Life, by Dr. David Servan-Schreiber, a cancer patient himself.
The Radiation Oncologist and his assistant instructed me on caring for my skin during treatment. I was told to use Aquaphor and aloe gel to keep my skin hydrated. I found pure, organic aloe gel (without alcohol), but knew I wouldn't be using Aquaphor, as it's main ingredient is Petrolatum (41%!). I was instructed to NOT use anything that had alcohol or anything else that would be drying to my skin. Arbonne products were perfect for my skin during treatment. The radiation technicians continually commented on how healthy my skin looked and felt. The Radiation Oncologist said the integrity of my skin stayed strong throughout treatment. At a follow-up visit only 4 months after my last radiation treatment, he said if he had not treated me himself, he wouldn't by able to tell by looking at my skin which side was treated. Thank you, Arbonne!
Here is a list of what I used, with the approval of my doctors:
Diet:
Omega-3 Plus
Protein Shake Mix - this was the main source of the additional protein I needed. Cooked food, especially meat, didn't take good to me. I had one or two shakes a day, depending on what else I ate, made with almond or rice milk, Fiber Boost, ground flax seed and some kind of fruit.
Ready-to-Drink Shakes went with me everywhere so I wouldn't get hungry and get caught without a healthy choice. Keeping something in my stomach helped keep nausea away.
Arbonne's 30 Days to Feeling Fit diet fit perfectly with the diet suggested by the Oncology Dietician and the Anti-Cancer book.
Skin care:
I primarily used the SeaSource Detox products, including the Purifying Sea Soak to detoxify after chemo. I had to be careful about the water temperature, keeping it comfortable as to not dry out my skin.
The SeaSource Gelee helps with those going through chemo - it really helped her to cool down after treatments.
When traveling, I used the FC5 body care products and they were just as effective in keeping my skin in good shape.
As I got to the end of radiation treatment, I met with a physician at the Integrated Medicine department to establish a plan for helping my body recover from treatment and for staying healthy and cancer-free in the future. His recommendations for diet mirrored Arbonne's 30 Day plan and the Anti-Cancer diet - a plant-based diet, including as much organic as possible, grass-fed beef, no artificial sweeteners, preservatives, etc. He looked through the Arbonne Essential products with me and recommended or approved:
Daily Power Pack
Antioxidant & Immunity Booster
Digestion Plus
Omega-3 Plus
Energy Fizz Tabs
Herbal Detox Tea
along with L-Glutamine and Turmeric
I'm on Arimidix daily for 5 years. Side effects include bone loss and joint stiffness. My Medical Oncologist approved me taking:
Calcium Plus
Joint Support (I had some joint stiffness at first, began taking Joint Support, and the stiffness is gone)
Please consult with your Oncologist prior to making any changes to your diet, regarding supplements or skin care products while under his or her care.

Also - I was also told that with regards to re9 that the serum being
high in vitamin c should be used as soon as possible as soon as healing
has begun within 7 to 10 days followed by moisturizer so maybe consider
our hydrating body serum and lotion once healing has begun.

Testimonial from Keisha Renee

OMG!!! Arbonne is amazing*) Here is a consultant testimony~ As a Breast Cancer survivor these are the Arbonne products I used, RE9 for my face, the Seasource rescue wash, seasouce 24 hr Remineralizing lotion, awaken sea salt scrub, lash enhancer (I was down to 1 lash), the Daily Self-adjusting tea ...tree oil shampoo, hair and scalp revitalizer, rejuvenating cream for scaring, and all of our makeup. I have also had several clients have great success with the skin conditioning oil and rejuvenating cream together for radiation, and the seasource gelee is very cooling for radiation. My surgeons also recommended Arbonne's products.

Our five in one oil is good for chemo patients for releasing fluid build up.
