1.  Explain the belief within the religion of Buddhism. Where did this religion originate?

India is the place of origin. Search some of the common beliefs within the religion.

2.  What are the beliefs within Christianity? How is it different than the other religions? What role does Jesus Christ play in this religion? Who was responsible for the spread of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire?

The difference between Christianity and other religions is that: within Christianity, salvation is not earned through works, in-fact, it is stated that it is a gift from God that no one may earn through works. Salvation is possible because of the sacrifice Christ made on the cross when he was crucified in your place, for your sins (that is unlike any other religion). It is believed in Christianity that those who believe in Jesus Christ and take him as their Lord and Savior will ultimately be saved from their sin and live eternally with God in heaven

Paul was one person that aided in the spread of Christianity throughout Rome.

3.  Why was Ashoka such a great leader for the Mauryan Empire? What things did he do to create success?

One of the most important things Ashoka did was open the border to trade with surrounding nations. During this time of people, there would be a lot of profit made through trade.

4.  What document is chiefly responsible for the structure and concepts of most laws today?

Justinian’s Code.

5.  Explain some of the characteristics of the Hellenistic Empire. Was it for or against the Greek way of life?

This empire was one of the most influential factors regards the passing on and preservation of Greek way of life and findings.

6.  The Persian empire went to standardized money, it was the same throughout the ENTIRE empire. What would this allow the people of the empire to do now that they all use the same currency?

This made trade much easier throughout the empire. Due to the standardized currency, unity was another outcome.

7.  We have spoke about the architecture of Greece. Where are some other places that have adopted this form of architecture?

If you look at some of the architecture found throughout the United States, Greek practices of architecture can be found.

8.  What are some rights experienced by citizens throughout the Roman Empire? Why was their form of government considered representative?

Voting was a right that was granted to those who were considered citizens. The idea of representation comes from government being representative of the choices the citizens have made in voting.

9.  What were the differences between an Athenian citizen and non-citizen?

Within Athenian society, the citizens were granted particular rights, theses were rights that were given to them, no earned.

A non-citizen had very few rights and could NEVER become a citizen within Athenian society.

10.  Be able to locate Persia, India, China on a map.

11.  Look at examples of Roman architecture. Be able to distinguish columns, arches (the main support systems for most structures)
