School Context:

Cessnock High school has an enrolment of 598, including 110 Aboriginal students, and was established in 1937. It is adjacent to Hunter Valley wine country in a diverse community. The school is proud of the initiatives which it leads including the College (compressed model Higher School certificate), Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), Aboriginal Education, Primary Industries and Agriculture, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and integrated sport.

Position Details:

This position is a temporary position funded by the school’s RAM for a period of 12 months with the possibility of an extension.

The start date for this position would be the 27th January 2016.

Position Criteria:

·  Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.

·  In addition to the general selection criteria, applicants must demonstrate an ability to oversee and manage wellbeing and learning & support programs within the school.

·  Applicants must have a demonstrated capacity to supervise and professionally develop staff involved in wellbeing and learning & support.

·  Applicants must have an ability to oversee and implement systems such as those required to collect Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) and student medical data.

·  Applicants must have the capacity to contribute to whole school programs and work as an integral member of the school executive and school community.
