Technology Education is a class using “hands on” career search curriculum. The students will explore future educational opportunities so they can make meaningful educational choices. Students will study different careers through activities during rotations in the classroom. Any student from all academic and physical skill can benefit from this class.

Technology Student Association (TSA) is an optional extracurricular organization for all technology education students. TSA is an integral part of the Geary High School Technology Education program. TSA is utilized to provide students the opportunity for personal growth, the development of leadership skills, and to learn civic responsibility. Membership privileges include, traveling to many regional contests, and the three-day TSA State Conference.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the course, students will have accomplished the following:

  • Understood technology and applied concepts and processes to basic applications with a STEM career focus
  • Researched and used new technology to complete projects in the lab, classroom, and online
  • Apply science, engineering, and mathematics in real-time situations
  • Used “hands on” career search curriculum
  • Explored future educational opportunities to make meaningful educational choices

To Whom It May Concern:

Upon the signing of this form, I am granting my son or daughter permission to participate in their respective technology education course taught by Kynsee Combs at Geary Public Schools during the 2016-2017 school year. I understand that my son or daughter’s participation in the technology education course may require their use of potentially dangerous tools and machines. I understand that my son or daughter will be able to use these machines only after they have completed and received one hundred percent (100%) on a machine safety test and a supervised demonstration. By signing and returning this form, I am acknowledging all of the above, granting my permission for my son or daughter to participate in a technology education class, and releasing Kynsee Combs and Geary Public Schools from any and all liability related to my son or daughter’s participation in his/her respective technology education class.
