(Current Events in Technology)
This homework assignment is designed to familiarize you with the many impacts that technology has on humans throughout our everyday lives. During the quarter you will be required to read five (5)technology-based articles, print them out, and complete a write-up based on the criteria listed below. Newspaper and magazine articles can also be accepted but must be submitted with your write-up. If you are not able to print your article at home, please notify your teacher and you may use one of the computers/printers in the technology lab. If you own a flash drive (portable USB drive) you may be able to type and save your write-up at home and then print it at school.Eachassignment must be typed.(Due dates will be posted on my website). Late assignments will be accepted but points will be deducted based on how late it is.
Write-up requirements
Begin your write-up with a proper heading. Then list the following information:
Title of the article
Name of the source (website, newspaper or magazine name)
Provide the link to the article
1. Your first paragraph will contain a brief summary of the article you read.
2. Describe how this article relates to technology.
3. Explain which field of technology your article discusses from the list below. Support your answer by stating at least one specific statement from the article to show that your selection involves that field of technology. Exact quotes taken from the article should be bolded and italicized.

4. List several pros and at least onecon for this technology.
5. State your opinion on the subject discussed. Explain why you choose this article, whether you agree or disagree with the author, and if you liked or disliked the article and why.
Each paragraph will be worth 20 points.Be sure to use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Points will be deducted based on how many errors are found during grading. If paragraphs are missing key points or incomplete, additional points may be lost. Proofread your write-up before turning it in, many mistakes are discovered by simply reading over your work before you hand it in. Save your work to the hard drive or your flash drive so editing will be easier if needed.
