Technology 91070 (1.40): Demonstrate understanding of basic concepts of information management EXTERNAL REPORT—3rd Entry:

Application software is designed for specific purposes and provides a range of tools for the end user to produce information. Last term, Application Software used in class has been Adobe applications and freeware.

Instructions:open External Report and after the last entry (about Microsoft Software) complete the following tasks:

(1) Identify (NAME) TWO Adobesoftware applications used and for each:

  • Describe and explain its common uses/purposes.
  • Give examples of your use of this application ie tasks completed this year. Justify (give reasons for) the use of this software for these tasks.
  • Describe the key features of each application (how does this software work eg colour palettes, selection tools … Use screen shots to illustrate your answers.

(2) Describe and explain why data is transferred between applications. Use screen shots to show how data is transferred.

(3) Explain why you were recommended to NOT have both Indesign and Photoshop open at the same time?

(4) Describe TWO freeware applications you have used. Explain their common uses/purposes and give examples of your use of this software. Describe the key features of each application. How do these compare with commercial software (eg Microsoft or Adobe?) Use screen shots to illustrate your examples.
