Mechanical Engineer

BASIC PURPOSE:

New Design Evaluate exiting designs

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the efforts of the engineering department by documenting existing, and establishing new procedures; designs and refines production equipment to include fixtures, dies, workstation layouts, and other physical aspects of the manufacturing floor. Collaborates with direct labor and other relevant responsibilities to continuously improve manufacturing processes.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBITIES OF JOB:

·  Reviews fixtures and setups utilized for the manufacture of product; improves or creates new tools and procedures to drive productivity gains

·  Examines material flow and executes process/procedural improvements

·  Reviews, researches, and provides recommendations on the manufacturing methodologies of new and existing product designs

·  Analyzes capacity and machine utilization; addresses challenges to the critical path(s) of the manufacturing process to increase product throughput

·  Participates on engineering projects with design/fabrication perspective to ensure manufacturability and maintain or improve production efficiency

·  Works with Engineering Manager on the development of new products by establishing all procedures, fixtures, and prototype testing necessary for new product completion

·  Interfaces with Quality Manager to maintain quality standards of manufacturing processes

·  Performs ancillary duties as needed

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

·  Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or similar engineering degree required

·  Not less than 3 years’ experience

·  Exposure to relevant standards and codes. Experience interfacing with clients or customers required. Proficiency with engineering modeling software required (CAD, Creo, and/or CAM preferred)

·  Must have the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization
