Vendors present:
  • Computer Consultants of America
  • Checkpoint Technologies
  • Summit Healthcare
  • TestPlant
  • Worldwide Technology
Description of business needs for this RFP:
  • Testing events are manual & labor intensive – we must keep test scripts updated; track issues; retest
  • Looking for tool to capture keystrokes during test script so we can easily replay and remove human factor
  • Looking to keep Millennium domains in sync (4 non-prod domains)
Vendor:What “issues” are you referring to – functional or also performance validations?
Moffitt: Functional, but performance would be useful. Automated test scripts could simulate higher volume & we could get performance info as well.
Vendor: How long have you been running Cerner/Soarian?
Moffitt: Millennium started in “view only” in 2000, and we have implemented the other modules since then, so about 8 years. Soarianabout 7years.
Vendor: Regarding workflows – are you looking for the vendor to provide them, or just a tool to write them yourselves?
Moffitt: We have test scripts developed; which are similar to workflows, but a tool would also be helpful to develop additional scripts
Vendor: What “3rd party apps/vendors”are being referred to in the BRD? In other words, what ancillarysystems/apps would Moffitt want to integrate with outside of Soarian and Cerner?
Moffitt: SunquestPowerPath and LabVantage
Vendor: In terms ofthelicensing configuration, how many Moffitt resources would need to utilize the solution to execute automated tests, as far as creating/executing automated tests? In other words, how many seat vs. concurrent licenses?
Moffitt: 10 from Revenue Cycle, 25 from Clinical Systems, 15 from Clinical Informatics, 4 from Research
Vendor:Are you interested in looking at mobile device testing as well?
Moffitt: Yes
Vendor: How many test scripts do you we have today, and at what complexity?
Moffitt: From a SoarianFinancials perspective, they’re fairly complex and comprehensive; most current scripts last b/tw 6-9 days to execute manually, barring bill hold days and other delays. On the Clinical side there are about 20— some basic, some comprehensive—and we also mimic real-world workflows in terms of potential delays; some take as long as about 6 days to complete
Vendor: What is frequency of running scripts?
Moffitt: Internally about 1/month or every other month, but some are run every 2-3 months—it depends on whether they’re related to integrated or system testing
Vendor:What typically triggers the process of running scripts?
Moffitt: Major projects and/or system updates
Vendor: Are you looking for an out-of-the-box solution, or a custom-developed one?
Moffitt: We have multiple automated testing solutions already in-house (e.g. Jira Testflow, Selenium for cross-browser testing, etc.)
Vendor: Do any of your solutions capture keystrokes?
Moffitt: Selenium does; and it is useful for testing ‘user stories’
Vendor:User stories is a unique approach; do you use this approach in other places at Moffitt?
Moffitt: We primarily use Scrum or Kanban, depending on the desired end result, but we would also want this new tool to capture keystrokes, because we have specific workflows we have to validate
Vendor:What app/system areyour current test scripts documented in?
Moffitt: Excel
Vendor: Would there be any benefit for the new solution to integrate with current in-house testing solutions?
Moffitt: Not sure, but also not critical to this initiative
Vendor: How many scripts do you have on the Soarian side?
Moffitt: About10-15, but we will need to expand to around 20 in the near future
Vendor: Can we see a sample test script?
Moffitt This will be determined after internal discussions and RFP responses have been submitted
Vendor:In terms of implementation, what will be required? i.e. a turnkey solution with knowledge transfer, etc.?
Moffitt: Initial implementation & knowledge transfer, with ongoing support, but it will ultimately come down to cost
Vendor:Question was in more in terms of if professional services and ongoing support would be included
Moffitt: Would depend on cost, but we are open to professional services; however, the initial configuration and knowledge transferwould be critical
Vendor: Would your test environment have de-identified data, or would the selected vendor be responsible for scrubbing it first?
Moffitt: We could potentially scramble identifiers or something similar, but it would take some effort…so not sure
Vendor: Lots of test data is ideal
Moffitt: Do you have any scripts/tools to de-identify/scrub data?
Vendor: Possibly, we’ve done something similar in the past
Vendor: Can you describe your integration needs for LabVantagePowerPath?
Moffitt: We need to ensure that instrumentation receives the order, and that the instrumentation then passes back the results
Vendor: What is your timeline for this?
Moffitt: Ideally before the end of June
Vendor: Relative to PathNet, what are you wanting the script(s) to test in terms of instrumentation?
Moffitt: Anything relative to a medical device interface, we would expect it to successfully send the request to a multiplexer for those instruments, and then return when tests are completed on the instrument side
Vendor: Other than UI validation, do you anticipate needing to validate API modules/peripheral devices, etc.?
Moffitt: Successful order being received at the point of care; then post result back across once device responds
Vendor: Would you require all services to be provided onsite, or would remote be an option?
Moffitt: Remote is an option, barring significant complexity with the solution
