MAIN PURPOSE:

Grow the income and net profit attributable to NCT ProfessionalsShop through the development and implementation of an effective account management plan for Health Professionals (HP) working within the ethical policy set by NCT.

JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING

  • The post involves the exercise of considerable judgement and decision making, including the development of projects with appropriate consultation.

LIAISON

  • The post holder liaises with other staff, particularly colleagues in Trading, Marketing and Education and with senior health care professional advisors.
  • Liaises with suppliers and external customers and directs the work of the sales team and exhibition team.
  • Becomes the main contact point for the Health Care Professional Market.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISION RECEIVED

  • The post holder will be responsible for the achievement of agreed objectives with support from their line manager.
  • The post holder will have regular 1:1 meetings with their line manager and attend/report at various internal meetings.
  • The post holder will receive mentoring and guidance from the NCT marketing manager responsible for health care professionals.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To produce a written account management plan that delivers growth and profit to target in line with NCT trading strategy and recognises the differing needs of the healthcare professional customer types.
  • Work towards the financial budgets set, review and adapt offering to ensure targets are achieved.
  • To directly manage all print, eMarketing and website promotional activity targeted to health professionals for both internal and external markets.
  • To arrange relevantprofessionals conferences and ensure NCT Professional are represented when appropriate.
  • To work with the buyer and merchandiser to ensure health professional products are purchased in line with Shop strategy and that stock remains in stock and not over stocked with particular reference to planned promotional activity.
  • To work with the warehouse and logistics to ensure the customer experience is as required by the marketing plan.
  • To developand implementan account management system for all health professional purchasers providing appropriate levels of proactive interaction linked to value, frequency and frequency of purchase.
  • To maintain strong links with key internal stakeholders within the NCT Group; especially MIDIRS, NCT College, Baby Café, NCT Data Unit and the team engaged in negotiating NHS service contracts.
  • To act as an internal expert on the health professional market and keep informed of all changes in best practice relevant to the target audience.
  • To manage the development of Health Professional Hire Services using trained agents and health professionals as a conduit to the parent consumer.
  • To monitor and evaluate all health professional marketing activity against the targets agreed in the plan.
  • To produce and contribute to weekly / monthly reports as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

SKILLS LEVEL, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL
  • Qualification or experience in creating account management and marketing plans which create a whole customer experience.
  • Strong appreciation of customer service and an ability to see the world as the customer sees it.
  • Demonstrable sales and account management skills and experience of selling or using the services of a sales team.
  • Demonstrable influencing skills with a range of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills – including MS Word and MS Excel and experience with online retail software.
  • Demonstrable ability to deal with high work volume, to manage time and prioritise effectively and to reduce work load by systemising and removing the drudgery of the routine with IT applications.
  • Demonstrable project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and willing to take the leadership role when needed.
  • Good team player, with the ability to take instruction when appropriate.
  • Flexibility, including willingness to travel.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous experience or interest in working in the first 1000 days of parenthood would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of the health service, its culture and operation and of the differing health service procurement practices between countries/regions.
  • Experience of working with similar healthcare products to those sold by NCT Professional.

QUALIFICATION

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience or a track record of achievement in online retail.
