Lunch Money:

Wildcat Café accepts cash or checks. To add money to your child’s lunch account, you may go to the cafeteria before school or pay online. To pay online: Go to Under the quick links, click on "cafeteria" and then click on "prepay meals online." You will need to know your child’s student ID.

*The morning class eats lunch from 10:50-11:20. Children can bring a lunch from home. If your child qualifies for free lunch, they will not be charged for school lunches. The cafeteria sells snacks and extras for 25 cents to $1.00. Children can use money on their account to buy these extra items or they can bring money. If you do not want your child to have snacks or extras, you can fill out a form in the cafeteria to block this on their account.

AM Class Drop off & Pick up:

* Please drop off your child in the front circle drive or the side circle drive. Please do not park in the drop off circles. Your child will walk to the cafeteria and go to the Pre-K table. There will be an adult to supervise the children at the Pre-K table. If your child eats school breakfast, they need to arrive between 7:20-7:40 am. For your child’s safety, please do not drop them off before 7:20 am. The teachers will pick up the children from the cafeteria at 7:45 am. The tardy bell rings at 7:50 am. If arriving after 7:50 am, you must walk in with your child through the front doors to receive a tardy slip. Please do not drop off your child at the side doors after 7:50 am as these doors will be locked!

*The morning class will dismiss from the side doors by the teacher parking lot. Mrs. Lovins & Mrs. Shirley will walk out with the children at 11:20 am. They will supervise the children and you can walk up to receive your student from them. We appreciate your patience. All children should be buckled in a booster seat. Thank you!

*If you arrive after 11:30 am, your child will be waiting in the front office and you will need to come in and sign a form, explaining why you were late.

Absences:

Attendance is mandatory in Pre-K. However, there will be times that your child may get sick or need to go to the doctor. If your child is absent from school, please make

sure to send a note in with your child regarding his or her absence. If your child has fever, diarrhea or is vomiting, please keep them home for 24 hours or until they are well.

Excused absences would be: doctor, dentist, illness. Unexcused absences would be: out of town, parent appointments, etc.

Allergies:

If your child has any food allergies, please bring a note from their doctor so that the cafeteria and nurse can have that on file. It is very important that you let the teachers and nurse know right away! We want to keep all of our students safe and healthy.

Medication:

If your child needs to take medication at school, you must take it to the nurse in the original container. Please give written permission and dosing instructions. This includes cough drops.

Classroom Management System:

I love to celebrate excellent behavior and hard work! I believe in having a classroom where every student feels safe, comfortable, happy and feels valued. I want each and every student to succeed and I want them to respect one another and work together as a team. We will be reading a book about “how to fill our buckets.” This means we will all use kind words and gestures every day in everything we do. When we do, we are a “bucket filler” and when we don’t, we are a “bucket dipper.” The students will work together to be “bucket fillers” and earn class rewards. They will also be rewarded individually for being a bucket filler. I have a prize box in my room and there will be an opportunity to go to the prize box once a week if your child has been a “filler” more than a “dipper.” Sometimes, we don’t always have our best days. If a student does not do what is expected, I will give them a warning and a chance to self-correct. I will handle minor issues in class. If I have behavior concerns, a note will be written in your child’s folder and/or I will contact you through Remind text message. If you receive a note or text, please talk to your child about good choices, following the rules and being someone who fills buckets. Every day is a fresh start! The goal is when we fill the buckets of others, our bucket is full too!

Daily Folders:

Your child will bring a folder home each day with notes, work, and other important items. Please check the folder daily, remove items from inside and return the folder the next day. Also, be sure to check the behavior calendar inside and initial it at the end of each week. Thank you!

Dress Code:

Pre-K follows the TMC dress code guidelines. No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or sleeveless shirts. No skulls on clothing. No ripped or torn clothing may be worn. Closed toe shoes are preferred. The teachers prefer velcro tennis shoes or ask that you tie shoestrings in double knots.

Report Cards:

Report cards will go home at the end of each nine weeks. I am available to have a parent/teacher conference to discuss your child’s progress. Anytime you have questions or concerns, you can contact me through email, Remind or a note and I will be happy to meet with you.

Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines:

In Pre-Kindergarten, our goal is to prepare the children for Kindergarten. We hope to do this academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and have fun along the way! If you would like to know what we will be teaching your children this year, the state of Texas has a website where these guidelines are posted.

Parties:

Our school has two official parties per year: Christmas & Valentine's Day. We will let parents know plans for the parties as the holidays get closer. Children can bring cookies or cupcakes for their birthday to share with the class, but it is not mandatory. We recommend that you bring a small treat because they have little tummies. It is a school policy that all food items must be store bought due to allergies that students may have. If you wish to send birthday party invitations, please send for the whole class. Thank you!
