HONORS CLASSES have to present projects today –t they will be one day behind each lesson.
Activator –Socrative: Which political party? Students will try to figure out what views typically match certain political parties

1. Holistic Discussion over the background to the two popular political parties
2. Notes – Which Political Party? Students will take notes over liberal and conservative viewpoints. They will try to distinguish between “personal believes” and “strict constitutionalism” / Activator –SmartBoard 10 Q’s review over political parties

1. Election Collection “School House Rocks” – students will watch a clip pertaining to the electoral college
2. Discussion – How is the president elected?
3. The Electoral College process – students will take notes and discuss the process for electing the president.
4. Students will see visuals comparing Electoral Votes v. Popular Vote – they will examine why the Electoral process is more practical. / Activator – Socrative: Quick review of yesterday’s electoral process
Lesson
1. Welcome to College! Students will create a brochure detailing the Electoral College. They will create the brochure as if it is an actual college someone can visit. They will create a brochure that would explain the “college” to people who have never heard of it. They will have specified questions that will need to be covered. Students will have two class periods to work on the brochure.
