GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To be responsible for maintenance and updating of Raiser’s Edge for fundraising and maintain accurate records and provide efficient support to the Fundraising Team and the wider organisation with Raiser’s Edge.
  1. To manage a small individual giving programme, including legacy giving.
  1. To work constructively with colleagues to deliver work and contribute to the development of Target Ovarian Cancer

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Database Support
  • Lead on operational management of Raiser's Edge including system administration, data cleansing, imports and exports of data
  • Manage input of all new supporters data onto the database
  • Manage all queries for the fundraising team and assist with setting up and running reports
  • Produce a set of data management procedures and a manual, keeping this updated on a regular basis and ensuring compliance with Data Protection legislation
  • Ensure data is cleaned on a regular basis
  1. Financial processing
  • Manage importing of all online donations onto Raiser’s Edge and updating of records including thanking donors
  • Manage input of all offline and direct donations onto Raiser’s Edge and thanking donors
  • Manage Gift Aid claims on a quarterly basis
  • Working with the Office Manager, ensure that the fundraising team has accurate and up to date financial information including income and expenditure and that Raiser’s Edge is reconciled with finance on a monthly basis
  1. Individual Giving
  • Work to develop our small Individual Giving programme to help grow income from direct debit and cash donations.
  • Establish a communications cycle for all donors to ensure they are thanks and developed to ensure long term support.
  1. Legacies
  • Work with the Fundraising Manager and Head of Fundraising to establish our legacy giving programme
  • Achieve a good number of legacy pledges from our existing supporter base and ensure legacy messaging is developed and reaches new audiences
  • Be the first point of contact for legacy enquiries and administer all legacy income.
  1. Organisational support
  • To deputise for the Office Manager in handling incoming and outgoing post
  • To support the wider organisation with Raiser’s Edge use – with entering information, setting up queries and running reports.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential / Desirable
Experience: /
  • Knowledge and experience of charity fundraising
  • Knowledge and experience of Raiser’s Edge database
  • Experience in fundraising administration and supporter care
  • Experience in direct marketing

  • Knowledge of issues relating to ovarian cancer
  • Experience of working for a small charity

Skills /
  • High level of organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise activities and focus on details.
  • IT literate including confident user of Microsoft Office programmes
