The Talitha Cumi Scholarship is dedicated to fueling the resilience of a deserving scholar of the female gender. The waiver of grade point average requirements is to more so focus on the character and mindset of the candidates. With this in mind the women of Euphoria hope to assist a femalecollege student in arriving at the place of her revival or refreshing.

This prestigious honor is dedicated to the story of Jesus and the damsel in theHoly Bible (Mark 5:35-43). Just as the damsel in the story, many students have had people to give up on their educational success and count them scholastically dead. Talitha Cumi is here to assist in the restoration and a rebirth to academic excellence.

Whether a single parent working multiple jobs while attending school, one who has just gotten off academic probation, a zealous student who has the all the drive but none of the finances, or even someone who has happen to make a few poor decisions … we want to hear from you!

Rules and Regulations

  • Must attend Euphoria Gala on June 24, 2011 (Award Ceremony)
  • Must be born female
  • Must enroll part time or full timein an accredited college in HOUSTON, TXfor Fall 2011
  • Must have attended college classes WITHIN the past 12 months
  • Part time & Full time students ONLY (Spring 2011)
  • Recommendation letter from a college professor or staff member with contact information included (See requirements on page 3)
  • 500-600 word essay explaining “Why I deserve this scholarship?” ( See requirements on page 3)
  • NO GPA REQUIREMENTS, however you CANNOT be on academic probation upon entering theFall 2011 semester. Academic probation in the Fall 2010 welcomed, however there must be proof that candidate will be released before 2011 Spring semester begins.)
  • All college classifications welcomed (i.e. Freshman, Senior, etc.)
  • *Application packet completed, filled (typed), and signed and received byMAY 1.

Recommendation Letter Rules

AUTHOR MUST HAVE BEEN A CURRENT UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEE DURING APPLICANT’S TENURE. Letter is open to freedom of expression; however there is a one page maximum and a 100 word minimum. Author of letter must include his or her contact information for verification purposes just in case the applicant is chosen. (MUST BE SIGNED & DATED). Please be advised that the said university will also be contacted for verification purposes.

By signing these documents, the applicant agrees with a sound mind that she has answered all questions honestly and understands that if any falsification of information is discovered it will breach the scholarship. Scholar also understands that the scholarship can be breached after being awarded for falsification or dishonesty on the applicants’ behalf. Dishonesty will not be tolerated and Euphoria will take the necessary precautions to retain the finances given.

As a body, we at Euphoria want to insure that this award be given to the person suitable. It is imperative that on all parts of your application you employ honesty. Any breach of the requirements will result in a breach of the scholarship funds. The applicant must enroll in the Fall 2011 Semester with a part time or full time status. All other requirements apply. Euphoria will make a mid semester check up to make sure winner remains enrolled at the required status. Please beware and act accordingly. -Euphoria
