Please type this section. Forward the saved form to all TAC members and the IMPRS coordinator at least one week before the meeting, together with a written report about the thesis project.

The report should be no longer than 5 pages of text and should include the scientific background, aims and perspectives of the project, a summary of any results and conclusions to date, plus a clear timeline for future work. See the document “TAC report writing guidelines” for further details.

PART 3: FORMAT OF MEETING

1.  Student project presentation, addressing specific scientific problems (ca. 20 minutes)

2.  Group discussion period (ca. 20 minutes)

3.  Chairperson invites student to step out of the room; discussion period without the student

4.  Chairperson invites project advisor to step out of the room; discussion period without the advisor

5.  Chairperson invites both student and project advisor to step outside; final deliberations to summarize the views of the TAC and formulate recommendations

6.  Chairperson presents views and recommendations to the advisor and student

7.  Review of the student’s training plan. The chairperson should indicate clearly in the table in part 2 the TAC’s recommended priorities.

8.  Final discussion including agreement on how the form will be completed.

The student is responsible for delivering the completed form with all signatures to the IMPRS office.

If the chairperson chooses to type up the form after the meeting, the student should be asked to pick it up, collect the remaining signatures etc.
