Facility:The meet will be conducted in an 8 lane, 25 yard pool with non-turbulent lane lines. Colorado Electronic Timing, Daktronics touch pads and Hy-Tek Meet Manager will be used. Sloped starting blocks and backstroke turn flags are in place. Designated warm-up lanes will be available throughout the meet. Average water depth at the start end is 7.5 feet and 16.5 feet at the turn end. The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4), and filed with USA Swimming. Separate dressing rooms, showers and lavatories for men and women are available.

Eligibility:All swimmers must be currently registered with United States Swimming. Swimmers age as of January 16, 2015 will determine age for this meet. No entries will be accepted unless the entrant is a registered athlete member with USA Swimming, Inc. The complete USA Swimming registration number for each individual must be placed on the team entry form. Every club entered as a team in a West Texas Swimming sanctioned meet must be a member of USA Swimming, Inc.

Rules: 2015 USA Swimming rules for competitive swimming will govern the meet. In accordance with safety regulations, the pool deck is strictly limited to swimmers, coaches, officials, and meet personnel only. Parents and other spectators must remain in the spectator area in the stands above the pool.

Recording Devices:Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.

Deck Changing: Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is strongly discouraged.

Racing Start Proficiency: Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

Qualifying

Time:There are no qualifying times or cut off times for this meet, except events 400 and longer, these events require the B standard for that age group.

Meet

Format:This isPrelim/Final meet with the Prelim events circle seeded slowest to fastest. Top eight (8) swimmers in Prelims swim in finals. The 400 IM and 1650 Free will be timed final swum fastest to slowest alternating girls, boys. The 12 & Under 200IM will be timed final swum slowest to fastest. The 500 is timed final and will be swum fastest to slowest alternating girls/boys with the top eight (8) girls and top eight (8) boys swimming in finals. Swimmers may choose to swim in the morning session.

Swimmers who qualify for finals and do not scratch from finals and fail to appear for finals will be fined $25 (payable to COM) and will be removed from the rest of the meet. No refunds will be given for the remaining events to be swum. It is the responsibility of the swimmers team to pay the fine(s) and recover the money from the swimmer. Failure to pay the fine will result in that team being banned from future meets until the fine is paid in full.

The morning session will be running fly-over starts.

Deck

Entries: Deck entries will be accepted ONLY where lanes are available. No new heats will be created. Deck entries will close 20 minutes after the start of warm ups.

Scoring:Scoring categories will be based on age and sex. Age group categories are as follow: 10 and Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15 and Over. Events over 400 will be swum together and scored separately by age group.

Relays:All relays will be swum in prelims and are timed finals. Deck entries for relays will only be accepted if space is available, no new heats will be created.

Positive

Check-in: Positive check-in will close 20 minutes after the start of the warm up session. Check-in is required for the 400 IM, 500 Free and 1650 Free.

Entry

Information:Swimmers are limited to Three (3) individual events and one (1) relay per day

All Teams entries should be sent in Hy-Tek team manager format. Entries should be emailed to hard copy of the entries should be sent along with the payment within 24 hours of sending the entries via email.

NO ENTRIES WIL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT A 2014 USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION NUMBER. Entries sent without this number will be treated as a On Deck entry and charged the On Deck entry fee.

Entries received after this date will be treated as On Deck entries and the On Deck entry fee will be applied and collected before the swimmer is able to compete. FAXED ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

Awards:Individual Events: Medals will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places. Ribbons will be given for fourth through eighth place.

Medals and Ribbons will be awarded to 8 and Under swimmers based on morning swims. This does not exempt an 8 and under from finals and receiving an award for a 10 and Under event.

Relays Events: Relays events will receive ribbons 1st-8th places.

High Point Award: Trophy will given to top point scorer and runner up in each age division (10 and under, 11-12, 13-14, 15 and Over).

Team trophies will be awarded to top three teams.

Liability and Sanction:

This meet is held under the Sanction of USA Swimming. U.S. Swimming, West Texas Swimming, Inc., City of Midland Aquatics and or its coaches and it’s officials shall be free from any and all liabilities or claims for damages or harm arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the meet or while traveling to or from the meet. Damage to a facility, when proved, will cause the offending swimmer, if unattached, or the offending swimmer’s club, if attached, to be held accountable for repairs.

Cell phone restrictions: The presence or use of cell phones, smart phones, or any other devices capable of producing audio recordings and/or photographic or video images in locker rooms, restrooms, or changing areas is strictly and specifically prohibited at all times. There are no exceptions to this policy. Violators are subject to disqualification from the meet, disbarment from the facility, and arrest.
