«PETIT CŒUR»

Swiss Osteopathic Center for Kids

  • The S.O.C.K. is a project founded by the initiators of the Swiss Academy for Traditional Osteopathy.
  • The S.O.C.K. is a charity project with a part-time clinic in Crans-Montana and satellites later on depending to the evolution.
  • The clinic is staffed by graduated osteopaths, experts in the treatment of children, and their associates.
  • They are volunteer osteopaths.
  • “Petit Coeur” relies solely on donations to provide specialised paediatric treatment for babies and children up to the age of 16.
  • In the United States, London, Vienna, Breda, Brussels, similar clinics have been offering treatments to babies and children for several years with a lot of success.

The Charity Aims are:

  • To provide treatment for all babies and children, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
  • To expand training for graduate osteopaths with special emphasis on the Biodynamic Approach to the treatment of children.
  • To promote excellence in osteopathic medicine for children and research into its effectiveness.
  • To raise public awareness of benefits of paediatric osteopathy for children.
  • To support and advance the mission of the S.O.C.K. ”Petit Coeur”.

For Kids:

  • The S.O.C.K. “Petit Coeur” enables children and families, who are often facing severe health challenges such as seizures, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy and other complex conditions, to receive the specialised uniqueness of osteopathic care.

Research:

  • We want to make sure parents have options for their children’s healthcare.
  • The S.O.C.K. funds on-going research to further the understanding and knowledge of the unique approach of osteopathic medicine in treating our children.

Educational Program:

  • With the overwhelming health needs of children there is an ever-increasing demand for continual training in osteopathic medicine.
  • The S.O.C.K. “Petit Coeur” enables specialised training for post-graduates in the treatment of children.
  • A 4 year paediatrics program provided by the Swiss Academy for Traditional Osteopathy, that insures the highest standard of paediatric care for the babies and children who visit our clinics.

Fundraising:

  • The clinics will provide many treatments, and each treatment costs the charity around 150 Sfr.
  • We ask parents to make a donation for their baby or child’s treatment, which means that those who can donate do, but those who can’t afford it are not denied treatment. This also means we have to fundraise continuously for the short fall, and are enormously appreciative –on behalf of all the babies and children we treat – for all monies raised and donated to us in order to continue this work.
  • The S.O.C.K. “Petit Coeur” is setting up a support network of friends. For an annual donation of 200 Sfr, you will receive a newsletter at least 2 times a year that will keep you up to date with news and events from the S.O.C.K.
  • By this way you can help us continue to provide paediatric osteopathic treatment for babies and children trough this national charity.
