SVS Data & AnalysisWorker

Job purpose: / Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS) is a vibrant charity that supports the local voluntary sector and also provides a number of public facing service delivery projects.
Having recently adopted a new CRM system, Salesforce, the post holder will drive forward the development of this system to ensure the organisation excels in the gathering, analysis and reporting of key data.
This role will operate across the breadth of SVS, with some ring-fenced time to focus on the Healthwatch Southampton (HWS) project. HWS engages with the public to find out what they think about local health and care services, with a view to influencing change.
Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive the post holder will also be in close contact with key SVS personnel to ensure seamless integration of the Salesforce system into staff’s working lives. The post will include an element of training and IT problem solving.
Specific Salesforce training will be provided.
Reporting to: / Through line management to SVS CEO.
Accountable to: / SVS Executive Committee.
Salary: / £23,000 Per Annum Pro Rata.
Hours of work: / 18.5 hours per week - will include some evening and weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be allowed.
SVS are willing to offer this opportunity on a flexible employment basis to encourage the calibre of applicant we desire. For example school term time working.

Key Tasks: / Data
  • To work under the direction of the Deputy Chief Executive and as part of the SVS / HWS team.
  • To lead the development and management of the Salesforce system to be used across the organisation.
  • To develop and collect the data sets which are relevant to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of our work.
  • To lead on the analysis of data to produce evidence for representation to multiple stakeholders, at all levels.
  • To produce reports as required to brief internal stakeholders, and enable the development of work streams.
  • To provide relevant monitoring stats as requested.
  • To closely collaborate with partner agencies in the gathering of intelligence and data.
Staff support and training
  • Support staff in the technical use ofSalesforce across SVS.
  • Design and deliver training sessions to increase staff knowledge and address key issues.
  • Liaise with key personnel to address and solve organisational issues relating to IT and data.

  • To work to all SVS policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by management.

Attainments: (Person Specification) / Essential
  • A proven track record in developing and maintaining database systems in order to record, access and analyse data sets.
  • Previous experience of using data analysis to produce evidence based reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Around 2 years relevant work experience in research, evidence gathering and analysis.
  • Experience of planning, managing and evaluating specific projects.
  • Keen research and analysis skills.
  • Maintaining clear records relevant to your work in a way that others can use.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office and sound administration skills.
  • To maintain and develop good working relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people at all levels and the ability to handle sensitive issues.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and accountability.
  • A creative and innovative thinker, strong at initiating new ideas and concepts.
  • Understand and implement different approaches and techniques for workload planning, management and prioritisation to ensure the completion of tasks against targets
Desirable
  • An understanding of the context within which SVS and HWSare operating (i.e. the challenges facing health and social care systems, the relationship between the voluntary and statutory sectors, the importance of user and public voice in influencing decisions).
