/ Flood Warden Training /
Introduction: / Following the flooding of 2013/14, both in the scale and length of the event there was recognition that there are too few Flood Wardens in the community and that the training for both existing and new Flood Wardenswas in need of updating. This training session looks to address both issues.
Numbers: / This full day course is free of charge with a maximum of 100 participants.
Supporting Guidance: / Civil Contingencies Act 2004, CCA Response and Recovery Guidance, KRF Pan-Kent Flooding Framework, Evacuation and Shelter, Local Multi-Agency Flood Plans and the Flood Wardens’ Handbook (issued on the day).
Target Audience: / Members of the Parish Council, Parish Emergency Planning Response Groups, Community Flood Group Members or any individuals interested in helping their community.
Aim: / To introduce volunteers to the role of Flood Warden. There will also be a bespoke section for each area attending to cover specific local risks, policies and infrastructure
Objectives: / On completion of this event attendees will have gained an understanding and knowledge of the following:
  1. Role of the Flood Warden both before, during and after an emergency
  2. An understanding of other organisations’ roles and responsibilities
  3. Water Safety
  4. Emergency procedures during a flooding incident
