Time:9.30am for a 10am start

Team Sheets:Teams are limited to 6 players for the day. (recommended)

Players MUST remain in A & B teams throughout the day.

Competing teams must provide:

  • Own Racquets
  • Own –8 new balls approved by Tennis Australia (school’s initials on them)
  • A Competent Umpire
  • A First Aid Kit

The Umpire must also score the game.

Score sheets are to be returned by the winning team.

The convener is in sole charge of the day and their decision is final.

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

  1. Tennis is conducted under the rules of the International Tennis Federation unless otherwise stated.
  2. The format will be a Full Round Robin. The winner of the Wheelers Hill A vs John Monash A will determine which team goes through to the Region Finals.
  3. Points are to be awarded for the Round Robin matches to determine the winner on the following basis:

Win: 3 pointsDraw: 1 point Loss: 0 points

  1. If two teams are equal on Round Robin points after the completion of the Round Robin matches, then the team that won the match between these two teams will assume the higher position. If this match was a draw or if there were more than 2 teams equal on Round Robin Points, then, percentage will be used to separate the teams.
  2. Players will toss for the choice of ends or service before all matches.
  3. The hit up time for the first matches will be 5 minutes. For all subsequent matches, 2 mins.
  4. Division matches will consist of 4 Singles Games & 2 Doubles Games. The set will be played to 6. A tie-breaker will be played at 6 games-all. The advantage rule will be played. Lets will be called and the player will be required to serve again.
  5. Teams will need to rank their players (1 – 4). Once they have them written down they are not to change them during a match. Any combination of players can be used for the doubles games.
  6. Coaches/teachers are not permitted on court and must not coach or communicate with players during play.
  7. All competitors must be similarly dressed in their school uniforms. Any players not appropriately attired, as listed, will not be permitted to participate in the competition. Tracksuits and jeans may not be worn during play.Board shorts (surf shorts) are not acceptable.Shirts with designs, large manufacturer’s logos or advertising are not acceptable.
  8. Tennis shoes with flat tread must be worn.
  9. Once a player has played in the A grade competition they are not allowed to then play in the B grade section.
  10. If a team is late for the start of their match for reasons beyond their control and the team communicates with the convener, then the convener will try to accommodate the team as best he/she can.
  11. If a team is 30 min late without notice or communication or in the convener’s opinion their lateness makes the draw impracticable, then they will forfeit the first 2 rubbers. This continues for each 30 min.
  12. The winner between the John Monash A and Wheelers Hill A match will continue on to the Region final, which is to be held on the 17th March 2017.
