Surrey Heath Partnership
Action Plan 2015-18
July 2015 (Revised Version)
The Surrey Heath Sustainable Community Strategy
The Sustainable Community Strategy vision for our area is:
- To sustain and constantly improve Surrey Heath as a desirable place to live, learn, work and play; and,
- To support individuals to achieve their full potential as a part of the local community.
Our objectives support our vision and are borne out of our consultation with the local community. They encapsulate the things the people of Surrey Heath told us were important to them and which we will work towards. They are:
- To live in attractive towns and villages;
- To feel safe in our homes and on our streets;
- To have a range of diverse leisure facilities and good access to well-maintained open spaces;
- To have good public transport systems available;
- To have safe facilities for young people;
- Opportunities for promoting and encouraging good health and an active lifestyle;
- Good quality accessible learning for all ages;
- Improved traffic flow;
- To have safe provision for older people;
- Good recycling opportunities in the area;
- Affordable housing built to enhance not crowd communities; and
- Businesses supported in the area and demonstrating their corporate social responsibilities.
The following action plans set out the targets we will deliver to help achieve these objectives.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING: Up until September 2014 the Surrey Heath Partnership Action Plan included a Health and Wellbeing section that outlined opportunities for promoting and encouraging good health and an active lifestyle.
At the June 2014 Surrey Heath Health and Wellbeing Board it was agreed that a new Surrey Heath Prevention Plan would supersede this section. The first version of the Surrey Heath “Prevention Plan” was presented at the September 2014 Health and Wellbeing Board.

At the March 2015 Surrey Heath Health and Wellbeing Board it was agreed to focus on five priority areas. The plan dated March 2015 remains as a resource describing the entire range of prevention activities and it will be reviewed on an annual basis. It is a multi-agency plan, contributed to by Surrey County Council, Surrey Heath Borough Council, Surrey Heath Clinical Commissioning Group and wider partners. It will report to the Surrey Heath Health and Wellbeing Board, with a new version produced for each quarterly Board meeting. Feedback from the Surrey Heath Partnership would also be welcome (please email comments to ) 27/04/15.
