Main Purpose:

Support the IT department that enables B&CE to achieve its corporate and operational objectives. Responsible for conducting all aspects of testing relating to the strategic change programme. Support the programme of change through effective communication and at all levels of the organisation.

The role will involve testing across all software phases: system; regression; integration; performance, security and user acceptance testing. Pro-actively identifying and communicating any risks or opportunities, analysing and documenting test results, writing and running test plans.

Key Activities:

  • Provide the Test Lead and project teams with effective support to enable them to develop and deliver programmes and projects
  • Assisting in the planning, preparation and execution of test scripts, you will accurately and efficiently report and monitor defects, as well as provide regular feedback on testing progress
  • Testing software built by the IT Development team and report any defects.
  • Carrying out any day to day testing tasks allocated by the IT Testing Lead.

Job Holder Specification:

Formal Education: /
  • Working towards or already have a 2:1 degree in IT related subjects

Experience: /
  • Good planning and co-ordination skills
  • Experience across test level, including System Integration testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Exposure to testing processes within Digital environments

Technical Experience: /
  • Awareness of modern testing tools and methodologies with exposure to relevant software packages – test management tools, such as Quality Centre, Confluence, Selenium, TFS
  • Awareness of web technologies including.NET, ASP.Net. HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Experience of using SQL server, database design

Essential: /
