Boot-y Wine Tote

Supplies you will need:

Sewing machine in good working order, basic sewing supplies, open toe or applique foot, new needle – 80/12 topstitch works well, coordinating thread for applique, hand sewing needle, marker for grommet placement, sharp pointed scissors for cutting grommet hole.

Fabric and notions:

½ yd. for boot (This is enough for lining, too)

1 fat quarter for lining if you don’t want to line it with the main boot fabric

1 fat quarter for foot

1 fat quarter for heel and sole

1 4” x 6” piece for heel shadow

¼ yd. heavy weight fusible fleece such as Pellon Thermalon Plus 971F (JoAnn’s has this)

¼ yd. light weight fusible webbing such as Fusi-Bond Lite (AQF has this)

2/3 yd. 2 ½” quilt binding (AQF has this) or 1 package commercial binding (see back of pattern for size)

2 sets 1 9/16” grommets (AQF has these)

1 sheet plastic canvas (JoAnn’s has this)

Light weight tear away stabilizer

Fabric glue

Polyester Fiberfill

Before class:

Copy all Templates. Make 2 copies of Templates A, C, D, H, I. Make 1 copy of all the rest.

Cut out all Templates.

Body of Boot – Tape Template A and Template B together. Tape Template C and Template D together. Place Template C/D on top of Template A/B matching top of Template C/D with dotted line on Template B. Tape in place.

Foot of Boot – Tape the second Template C and second Template D together.

Heel/Sole – Tape Template E and Template F together. Lay them on top of Template C/D to make sure they are aligned correctly.

Sole of Boot – Tape Template H and Template I together.

Lining – Tape the second Template A to Template A1.

Plastic Canvas – Tape the second Template H and the second Template I together. Cut these out on the dotted line.
