Supplemental Minutes in Meeting on 9/1/11
In addition to the matters reflected in the Minutes of Organizational Meeting of Directors of Garner Police Athletic League held at the Garner Police Department, Main Street substation, 503 West Main Street, Garner, North Carolina, on September 1, 2011, commencing at 6:00 p.m. The following matters have dismissal:
The meeting was called to order at 6:04 pm by President Tim Montgomery.
1) Vote and Approve of Roger Davenport, (“maybe we should be Advisory Member and not Board Member” due to his availability at the Fire Dept., review his position due to vote before meeting)
2) Social Media to explore further interests in a possible Volunteer Coordinator.
3) Update on Volunteer Form for future Discussions or Disqualifiers
4) Update on Presentations
- Civitan
5) Review and Approve East Garner Club PAL Application for prospective students
6) Review Form with tax ID # for donations (possible
7) Status on Camp Kaleidoscope Meeting
8) T-shirt status for Volunteer t-shirts
9) Follow up with Advertising Garner PAL: Possible suggestions
The next meeting of the Board of Directors for the Garner Police Activity / Athletics League will be held on Thursday, October 7th at 6:00 p.m.

2) Treasure Report, Justin - update on Financial status - $1500
- Recognized and updated list of sponsors
3) 501 (c) 3 Application was sent off last week, Time Frame is 90 days for review & approval.
4) Discussion of having a policy for the Volunteer Background Screening, need to check criminal history.

5) Mike discussed DUNN Visit,
- Each kid has lanyard for scanning for attendance purposes at the entrance

- Addressed religious orientation might exclude future opportunities
- Legislative Board Activity to promote leadership roles for the kids
7) East Garner PAL Club – Official Name for E. Garner Middle School Afterschool Program
- Tuesday Afternoon Sessions
- First Session - Tuesday October 4th 2011.
- 15th of September - first meeting to find additional students to identify as some possible candidates
- Goal 12 students, 12 volunteers, possible 101 activities
- Life skills, hygiene, sports (golf), interview skills
- Will need to pass through WCPSS, Wake Co Public School System
- PAL Application for kids
8) Need to have follow up meeting for Camp Kaleidoscope
9) Public Safety Day – Aug 16th – Avery St. – 1 to 5 pm – Kids K-7
- K-9, Fire Trucks, CRIME Prevention, etc.
- 60-70 kids
- Maybe small creative style design logo activity (younger kids) & Small Group discussion for older kids (what should Garner PAL Badge represent, etc.)
10) Advertisement: Pencils, wrist bands, etc.
11) Made a motion and Accepted Sponsor a team for Fall Sport GBI – Garner Baseball Inc.
12) Made a motion and Accepted for $200 Limit on Kaleidoscope
