20.03.17

In attendance: Ruth McArthur, Avril Eaton, Katrina Spence, Kimberley Grant, Tara Black, Morag Goodwin, Amy Davidson and Linda McGregor

Feedback from Nativity

Everyone thought the Nativity went well the attendance was a good turnout and the tables set up in the small hall were full. Everyone agreed the afternoon worked much better for parents attending.

The mince pies and coffee/tea were covered by the donation asked for and there was a little bit left over.

Linda mentioned the rag bag collection and how the money from Rag bag could be given to the PFG to accumulate so that events that require costs can be covered from that kitty.

One Planet Picnic

It was suggested that instead of the Teddy Bear Picnic that we held last year, a One Planet Picnic which would support our Eco Green Flag status as well.

The One Planet Picnic would consist of parents sourcing local grown or homemade produce for their picnic lunch. It would be a relaxed day from 11-1pm at the Torphins Park. Suggested dates are the 3,10,17,24th of June. As a backup plan if the weather is unfavourable Linda, will call Aberdeenshire council to find out if the hall is available on any of those dates.Dates of availability will be sent to PFG to decide.

An invitation would be sent out to all the parents, suggestions of Teddy Bear shape or a world/circle shape, the children could decorate the invitation. Avril mentioned putting it out on the daily report to promote the picnic and remind parents to leave the date free.

Linda to get the key of the pavilion toilets.

Kimberley mentioned the policy on photographs. Last year Faye took photographs but asked the parents if they were alright about putting the photos on the website or for display. A reminder will be put out asking parents to respect other parents’ wishes and ask permission or just photograph their own children.

Linda mention she had a visit from Grampian fire chief, this was to oversee the fire procedures etc that are in place. He was very happy with the procedures and regulations that are in place.

Transitions

Tara made a visit to Torphins school nursery with the focus on building her links on transitions for the primary 1 children. She made further suggestions of being included in activities with the nursery children from Torphins school nursery, this was taken on board by the Nursery manager.
