"Heritage, Identity and Local Development: for comparative analysis and multidisciplinary"

UNICEN - FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES – OLAVARRÍA - ARGENTINA – MARZO 2014

The Summer School is an initiative of the Universita degli Studi di Padova and the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (UNICEN) to strengthen scientific and cultural cooperation already established between them and the University of Lodz (Poland) in project scope "Company Towns in the World" and the project RESDEL (Interuniversity Network Socio-Cultural Studies and Local Development as design support graduate degree in Social Anthropology).

It will last for two weeks, between March 14 and March 28, 2014. Will include the development of seminars, visits to sites selected as case study, final paper.

For whom:

It is aimed at college students, graduate students, doctoral and professional, public or private employees.

Objectives:

(1) Contribute to the policy of promoting the internationalization of the UNICEN

(2) Encourage the development of the activity of scientific projects listed in the agreement subscribed scientific and cultural cooperation between the partner universities.

(3) Promote international cooperation and exchanges in research and educational activities relating to the field of historical and cultural heritage, its preservation and development in the context of sustainable local development.

(4) Strengthen the "Interuniversity Network Socio-Cultural Studies and Local Development to support the design of Postgraduate Diploma in Social Anthropology. RESDel "formed between National University of Central Buenos Aires Province (UNICEN), the Universita degli Studi di Padova (UNIPD. Italy) and the University of Lodz (Poland).

(5) contribute to higher education students, doctoral students, professionals, public operators and / or private in the field of studies and designs for the conservation, enhancement and management under the sustainable local development of tangible and intangible heritage, the history of the production, industry, their work cultures and social structure of migratory contribution fruit and Italian job Mobility in the birth of the "evolution" of communities and urban centers and industrial districts in Argentina .

Description of Activity:

The Summer School "Heritage, Identity and Local Development: for comparative analysis and multidisciplinary" will be divided into four parts:

(1) A party Introductory theory and methodology (concepts, themes, and multidisciplinary approaches to the many treatises on Heritage, Identity and Local Development).

(2) A part of deepening of various disciplinary problems (in terms of discussion and interaction) with particular attention to approaches specific to: Anthropological Science and Industrial Archaeology (material culture), Anthropology and Ethnography (cultures work and intangible heritage), history (with specific attention to oral history), economics, sociology and Social Communication.

(3) Working in the field with some case studies:

a) The area of the complex asset recovery Riachuelo-Matanza (Buenos Aires. Argentina)

b) mining and industrial sites of lime and cement Olavarria area in the center of the Province of Buenos Aires

(4) Discussion, tutorials and guides students at work in the classroom, on the field visit and the development of a work project on which to base the final evaluation and certification of loans granted in the Summer School

Program

Day 1. Introduction to the theory and methodology (concepts, themes, and multidisciplinary approaches to the relationship between heritage, identity and Development).

Day 2. Heritage, Identity and Development: Approaches to Social Anthropology

Day 3. Heritage and Development: A view of the economy.

Day 4. Anthropology, Archaeology and industrial heritage.

Day 5: Visit to central locations in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the assessment of industrial heritage.

Day 6 and 7: Free.

Day 8: Economy and Planning.

Day 9: Oral History, Heritage and Identity.

Day 10: Heritage and Social Communication.

Day 11: The Culture of the historical memory of Labour and trades. Closure: Roundtable and conclusions

Day 12: Program Complex asset recovery Riachuelo-Matanza (Buenos Aires. Argentina)

Day 13 and 14: Free

The Summer School will run for two weeks and will select 6 credits in a period of time ranging from 14 March to 28 March 2014.

The activity will be developed in Spanish and English Language.

The selection of participating students:

Participants will be selected on the basis of a valuation of your resume, the note must submit basing interest in participating in the Summer School, and with special respect for ethnic, gender and economic conditions.

For whom:

It is aimed at college students, graduate students, doctoral and professional, public or private employees. Credits and certification will be awarded to those who have completed at not less than 70% of courses.
