Summer Institute Resident Assistant Description

The Resident Assistant for the Adelina Gomez Scholars Summer Institute will be responsible for:

•Coordinating evening programming with students

•Helping to resolve conflicts and disciplinary issues

•Participating in co-curricular activities

•Identifying support needs

•Being a positive role model for the students as they explore college life

•Conducting post class seminar / homework sessions after dinner and before curfew

•Enforcing the institute curfew

•Helping the students adhere to the institute schedule

•Making the institute experience enjoyable and educational to the students

Mandatory job duties will be:

•Stay at residence hall for the duration of the summer institute

•Share residential experience with students

•Attend and complete pre-institute trainings

Minimum requirements:

•Student in good standing at UCCS

•Dependability and clear communication

•Involvement in student clubs and the campus

Preferred requirements:

•Student leadership position (JTA, RA, SGA, OWL, Peer Mentor, etc.)

•Attended Big Idea, Safe Zone or similar diversity training

•Former student from a Denver area high school

Compensation:

•$1,200
