Summary MPH Exit Interview – Spring 2014
What are the overall strengths of the MPH Program- Please note not ranked in order of importance
1)The following courses were very helpful: Health Program Planning and Evaluation; Health Research & Resources; and Community Health Assessment Capacity. The advantage of the face-to-face classes is the additional support provided by the professors when needed.
2)The program's strengths lie with the faculty, the majority are very student focused and always willing to set aside time to meet and discuss personal, academic, and professional topics with students.
3)Small class size made a great discussion in the class.

5)The MPH Program has great professors that are available to advice, teach outside of class, and mentor students. I appreciated the small class sizes, which facilitated group discussions and participation. I was fortunate to have a faculty advisor/supervisor who encouraged me to develop my skills and allowed me to build up my resume with her assistance
6)I liked the face-to-face options and the small size of the classes. Most of the faculty are very passionate about their courses and the success of the students. There is a heavy emphasis on literature reviews and staying up to date with the changes and improvement of public health.
7)It is so organized; the classes were well lined out and I was always able to get the classes I needed to stay on track (I have friends in UNM MPH that had a hard time staying on track because courses were difficult to get).
8)Dr. Sue is amazing as the online professor for the program. She, although only meeting me once 4 years ago, has assisted me with anything I have ever asked or had a problem with. She is very helpful and informative. She is so great for the program, response very promptly and will help students in anyway achieve their goals or tasks they are trying to accomplish. This is a strength to me because being an online student living in another state it is difficult to get things done, with her help through my three years in the program I was able to get what I needed completed.
Most professors are also willing to help students or at least respond to them promptly when they are asked. This is important for the online program to keep open and quick communication because we cannot just attend office hours like in person students can. I can only say that I had problems as far as responses to emails or not posting grades from only 1-2 professors.
