** Penny or Coin Toss~ We line up the kids in the pool where they can’t peek and toss the coins in the shallow or deep end and let the kids find them. Just supply the coins and cups/ baggies/beach buckets? for the kids to put coins in.
Trinket Toss~ This is similar to the Penny Coin Toss but with small toys. Plastic jewelry, plastic coins, squirt toys, and plastic toys/ animals are all great. Stay away from paper labels (paper comes off in pool) and marbles or balls (they roll away to deeper areas).
Ice Block Race/ Balloon Ice~ This is a fun relay race! We group the children into 2 teams, then have them race the width of the pool one by one. The first team to finish or have the ice melt away wins !! We try to run the race a few times, so purchase 2-4 ice blocks. You can find blocks of ice in the bagged ice area at the grocery store (call before you go to make sure they carry it).
For a party with younger kids (2-5 years old) Balloon Ice would be best. To set this game up, take a package of regular balloons (not water balloons) and put a plastic toy, coin, or jewelry in theballoons (make a balloon for each individual child). Fill it with water to the size of an orange and tie it off. Freeze them 2 days before the party. We will cut the balloon off to reveal the ice ball. The kids will melt the ice to get to their prize (the pools heat will help with this process).
