By the end of the lesson students will be able to:
·  Identify 4 parts of plants
·  Illustrate the parts of plants
·  Observe the seeds / Pre-Technology Task: Students work was compiled as ppt and shown to recall the previous lesson. Teacher will ask the following questions.
·  What is a living thing?
·  Identify the living and nonliving things in ppt and differentiate between the two.
·  Teacher will ask pupil to recall their experiences of using the paint.
Brainstorming:
Teacher will generate the classroom discussion by showing the real plant and by asking:
·  What kind of plant is it?
·  Have they seen real plant before?
·  What do plants need to grow?
·  What will happen to plants if we do not water them ?
Whole class teaching
Learners will be grouped according to ability. The topic parts of plants will be introduced through ppt and real plant.
Hands-on experience:
Group Activity:
1.  Teacher will show the apple to students and ask questions. What do they think is inside the apple?
2.  Teacher will cut the apple and show it to the pupils. Pupils will count the seeds inside the apple.
3.  Pass out the different seeds to the pupils in groups and ask them to observe the seeds and draw what they observe. Students will answer the following questions while observing seeds
·  What is the colour of the seed?
·  What is the shape of the seed?
·  What is the texture of the seeds?
Teacher will pass out the Styrofoam cups, soil and water to learners. They will write their names on the cup and grow plants. Teacher will
Pre-IT Lab Activity:
Children will work in pairs in the IT lab. Teacher will label the computers with students’ names

Task1
·  Identify and sort living and nonliving things. Drag living and living things using a mouse and put it in appropriate box.
Task 2
·  Students will play the activity on the net and grow the plant.
Task 3
·  Students will use MSW paint to draw and label the parts of plants

·  Teacher will ask following questions:
1.  What are living things?
2.  What do plants need in order to grow?

Evaluation of Student Learning:
Pupils were able to identify and list the parts of plants
First hand opportunity helped them understand the concept. It also helped them develop their cognitive skills. In the second activity, pupils had to recall and remember where each thing was located and place it in a appropriate box. They gained confidence and their IT skills were enhanced
/ Evaluation of Teaching:
Since group discussion is very new to these students, I should have demonstrated the discussion to the students.
I used the cursive font for my ppt it was very difficult for the students to read. I will change the font to simple. For example, Comic San.
