Dear Sirs,
Sub:- Humble Request to give hand of hope in MissionSnehankur.
Greetings fromSnehankur and Snehalaya family!
We are always overjoyed when one of the abandoned children whom we rescue, gets adopted in a family, home, love and hope because of loving foster-parents. We are also sure that after the adoption they alsoexperience great satisfaction and meaningful life than in the past.We are always including such families in our prayers.
Adoption of a child is a beginning of the new relations as we have also adopted each other as our extended family members. Many Snehalaya volunteers have also taken children in adoption. This network of adopted parents is playing a key role in providing care and protection to the infants admitted to Snehankurcentre. After the consistent efforts of last 3 yrs, we got a piece of land for proper set up of Snehankur. We need your support in this mission. We request you to share the information about the need of providing quality care to all the babies, unwed mothers etc. admitted in Snehankur. We know that thisproblem on which were working is old and big.But we have decided to continue, strengthen our efforts. We cannot become a sun. But let's try to light a small lamp to sustain a hope of a new dawn.
Here, we are sharing the details of proposed new set up for Snehankurcentre.
Hope you will help us in seeking the help of likeminded philanthropic persons. Let's join hands to create a better world for our near and dears.

A)Requirements:
Please refer link : Snehankur adoption centre is situated in Dr. AdkarbalakalyanSankul Trust building, Lendkar mala, Balikashram road, Ahmednagar since 2007.Originally the building was a single floor structure of 800 sq ft. Snehankur built the 2nd floor to meet their needs. The Snehankur and Snehalayas’ Offices, counseling centre, residence of unwed mothers, kitchen & dining area, a small exhibition of Snehalaya&Snehankur etc… are situated on the ground floor. The office of Radionagar 90.4 FM, its studio, tower, bore-well, invertors, a small open theatre are the provisions situated in the premises behind the main Snehankur office. The second floor is divided into two main sections. The first section is for healthy children while the second section is for ICU facilities for infants who are premature, having low birth weight and who need special care. Presently Snehankur has two incubators; however there is no space for ventilators and other equipments which are extremely necessary. According to the prescribed format by the Children & Women Welfare committee (CWC) the above space is inadequate. The CWC has instructed time and again to Snehankur about this. The confidentiality/privacy of the unwed mothers & mothers coming for relinquishment of their children cannot be maintained. Many questions arise due to this. A separate permission has to be perceived from the government to provide shelter to the unwed mothers. However due to insufficient space this permission cannot be sought. It is necessary that a separate residential facility should be provided for infants above 6 months age as their needs differ; also a proper room should be provided to aspiring adoptive parents; both these requirements cannot be fulfilled due to inadequacy of space. A big plot of land can be made available in Ahmednagar M.I.D.C.But other important facilities cannot be made available there. So it has become a need of the times that a separate well-facilitated building for Snehankur should be built.
B)Aims:
- To seek permission to increase the number of children housed in Snehankur from 30 to 50 is to be sought from CWC. To increase the basic amenities and seek international permit for adoption process in the year 2015.
- To build a state of the art N.I.C.U for newborn infants and infants with special needs.
- To build a separate unit for infants of the age group 2 to 6 months.
- To build a separate unit for infants of the age group 6 months to 3 years
- To build a separate unit for children of the age group 3 to 6 years.
- To build a separate play section consisting of different games for the mental and physical development of children between 6 months to 6 years of age.
- To build a residential area for the prenatal and postnatal care of unwed mothers.
- To build a separate kitchens for children of different age groups as well as for unwed mothers.
- To have at least 2 separate counseling rooms for unwed mothers & potential adoptive parents.
- To build a multipurpose auditorium for various programs like meetings, adoptive parents get together, exhibition on adoption, seminars and lectures, etc…Awareness programmes regarding Snehankur and Snehalaya, their perspectives can be explained to common people here.
- To build a separate store room for keeping records of unwed mothers and Snehankur.
- To build separate office premises for Snehankur staff.
- To build a separate facility for care-takers and nurses of the Baby care centre.
- To have a separate space for washing and drying of clothes.
- To build a separate storage facility for the storage of for baby care products, medicines and baby clothes.
- To build a separate guest house with at least three guest-rooms for adoptive parents and residential facility for male and female staff.
- As we have to increase the capacity of children from 30 to 50 at Snehankur; it is necessary to have 1 W.C. and 1 Bathroom per 5 children. If a facility of 10 Bathrooms and W.C is build it will fulfill the rules.
- According to the government rules it is necessary to have a building of 2200 sq.ft. along with W.C and bathrooms for housing 50 children.
- Snehankur has to also look after children with special needs for a long period. They may be mentally retarded, slow learners, physically challenged, visually challenged, children suffering from ailments like Thalessemia, Cancer, Hepatitis A, T.B, etc...; isolation wards for such children have to be build.
C) Financial budget:
1. Nonrecurring one time expenditure

9. / Inverter and batteries / 3,00,000/-

2. Recurring expenses:
There will be an increase of about 15% in recurring expenses of Snehankur. Appointment of trained nursing staff is necessary to provide state of the art medical facilities and handle various modern equipments like ventilator. There will also be an increase in the maintenance costs of equipments, electricity bills, use of fuel etc….thus increasing the recurring expenditure.
D)Expectations:
1)The stream of new donors will increase due to the new premises of Snehankur. There will be a rise of up to 25% in the institutional contribution by the people who will visit Snehankur. Snehankur will aim to increase the adoption rate by 30 % in the new premises. So there will be approximately 72 adoptions per year done by Snehankur. This will result in the increase of the helping hands as well as number of members of the Snehalaya family.
2)There will be 50% decrease in the medical expenses of children spent in private hospitals.
3)The mortality of the infants will be reduced as there will be decrease in the contagious diseases.
4)The number of unwed mothers coming for rehabilitation will increase as they will be given good facilities and assured secrecy.
5) As there will be separate sections for children of various age groups, their mental & physical growth will be up to the mark. At present this growth cannot always be achieved. Hence though the children grow older their mental development is not according to expectations. This also becomes a reason for denial by potential adoptive parents .This drawback will be overcome in the new premises.
6)The bonding of the potential adoptive parents with Snehankur will increase once they understand the professional competence & quality of work done here. This will result in a long term benefit for other children in Snehalaya.
7)The nurturing of children with special needs will also be done properly.
8)The present space for the Radio Station is inadequate. After Snehankur vacates the present premises, the complete premises will be available for the radio. Similarly a state of art media centre of Snehalaya can be developed here. Snehalaya can publish various books, periodicals, magazines etc… in this facility.
E)Financial building:
Snehankur had sent a letter on 14th April, 2014 to Mr. Dinesh &JaykumarJeevanlaljiMunot requesting them to donate their land to Snehankur. The Munot family gave a thought to Snehankur’s proposal and agreed to donate their land.
The Munot family purchased this piece of Non Agriculture land on 2nd December 2012 from ShrimatiNavalbaiRamedhBhandari in ‘Naval Estate’.The address of this land is, Plot No.12, Survey no.413/1 (c.s.no.1427), near Hotel Sandeep, Nagar-Pune road, Kedgaon, Ahmednagar & lies within the Muncipal Corporation premises. The measurements are as follows: 279 sq. met. (Approx 3 thousand sq ft) .The boundaries of this land are as follows : Plot no.14 to the east, internal road on the West, Plot no 11 to the north & internal road to the south. This land which is donated by Munot family is owned by them only & is without any encumbrance.
A state of art building for the adoption centre will be built on this land where the present Snehankur Centre will be relocated. This building will be named as ‘Honarable. RupaliJaykumarMunot Centre for Children with Special Needs’, as per the request of Munot family. This will be a permanent name for these premises. Donors for building different rooms & equipments required for this project will be identified and named according to the donor’s requests. The functioning & economical responsibility of this project will solely be of Snehalaya. The legal responsibility will rest with Snehankur. A resolution about this has already been passed.
Time Limit for the Project:
Fund raising for this Project will be done by Snehankur. Snehalaya will build this project according to their usual format. However Snehankur team & volunteers will also raise funds for this project separately. Snehankur’s primary aim till the completion of this project i.e. till December 2015 is to collect funds exclusively for the new project only.
