SU2P 8thAnnual Symposium–Image Competition

SU2P is holding its Annual Symposium on the 5th6th April 2017 atthe Heriot Watt University.

Following last year’s success SU2P is running the image competition which will be on display during the Symposium and will be judged by an SU2P Panel. Images may be on research and activities that are related to the themes of SU2P (images on other photonics and related research will be accepted):

The images will be presented in a slide show in the closing session of the first day of the symposium and displayed in the foyer of the venue. Imagesmay be on research and activities that are related to the themes of SU2P (and images on other photonics and related research will be accepted):

  • Healthcare and Medicine
  • Energy and the Environment
  • Communications and IT
  • Security and Defence
  • Advanced Manufacturing

Key Dates

You are requested to submit

  • a title for your proposed image
  • a short description
  • indicate which theme/area your imagefits within
  • include all your contact details

Please submit to the SU2P Director on

The images will be judged by an SU2P Panel on the first day of the Symposium and the winning image awarded at the symposium dinner.

You mustbe registered for the SU2P Symposium if you intend to submit an image to the competition.

Please submit yourimage and information by 27th March 2017

The benefits for researchers involved include:

  • Exposure to industrial contacts for either involvement in research or as potential future employers
  • An opportunity to promote your work to your photonic peers

Image Requirements

The subject matter can be the research of an individual or group. Please leave enough time to enable your supervisor to review your imageprior to submission.

Image Display

Image format for visual display on a pc or large screen. Please confirm permission to use the image for the competition and indicate if images are available for use on the SU2P website and communications materials.
