Article I—Name of Organization

Section A. Students in Business

Article II—Club Purpose

Section A. This club seeks to build opportunities and interactive development from professional sources, faculty, and fellow students with the professional, educational, and social aspects of finance and accounting. This club aims to help students network with professionals in this field, surround themselves by people of the same interests, and gain more value to their education beyond the classroom.

Section B. This club strives to promote career activities, provide opportunities, and create interest for finance and accounting, while also promoting the importance for basic knowledge in these fields.

Section C. This club will focus on Pitzer’s core value of student engagement and interdisciplinary learning, as it will allow students to learn and participate more in fields that are not reflected in the set majors provided by Pitzer as well as, hopefully, create immediate connections between academic and business professionals. Overall, this club will bring a more diverse and unique communicative learning experience for the Pitzer community.

Article III—Membership

Section A. Only currently registered students may be active in this student club. Only active members may vote or hold office. An active member is someone who has attended two or more meetings.

Article IV—Officers/Elections

Section A. Leadership structure consists of a President, Treasurer, and Secretary.

Section B. The duties of the club officers shall be:

1) President: Serves as the official representative of the club. Convenes and chairs club meetings. Sets club meeting agendas. May propose and vote upon all club matters.

2) Treasurer: Handles all financial club matters including not limited to: collecting receipts, processing RFSs, and keeping an accurate budget for the club on a designated Excel budget sheet.

3) Secretary: Records and distributes the minutes of all club meetings. May propose and vote upon all club matters.

Section C. Each candidate for officer must provide a brief speech during a club meeting, followed by a blind vote. Majority vote will choose which candidate will be elected.

Section D. Selection will occur prior to each new semester.

Section E. Term of office will be by semester. However, current officers may be re-elected if they so choose to run again.

Section F.

Article V—Meetings

Section A. Meetings will occur every week and will be run by the officer board. Meetings will be announced on student-talk.

Section B. Special emergency meetings will not be necessary. If so, they will be contacted by phone, email or in person.

Section C.

Article VI—Charter of Amendments

Section A. An amendment may be initiated by any member of the club and passed by two-thirds majority vote of the members present at the meeting.

Section B. Active members will be notified through phone, email, on in person when an amendment is going to be voted upon. All constitutional amendments, additions or deletions must be filed with Student senate within one week of adoption.

Article VII—Organization Dissolution

Section A. Dissolution will be decided by an officer meeting followed by a club vote.

Section B. Nine-tenths of all active members is the required majority of votes to dissolve the group.
