Happy Valentine’s Day!

If you are celebrating today, be sure to contact your favorite Cyclone and ask them to be your valentine! During this time of year, there are many events and excitement occurring across campus.

Students can receive free tax preparation assistance

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is available starting Tuesday, February 19, 2013 through Thursday, April 11, 2013. It is sponsored by Beta Alpha Psi. This service is provided by trained ISU accounting students through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). Taxpayers with household incomes of less than $50,000 are eligible. Please note that due to the complex nature of some Income Tax Returns, VITA Volunteers may not be able to provide assistance to all people.

FAFSA

The March 1st deadline is quickly approaching! Has your student filled out their FAFSAyet? Remind your students that this is the priority deadline to be considered for grants and scholarships.

Internship and Career Fair

Is your student looking for an internship or full/part-time employment in Education, human/social services, health/wellness, government, or hospitality? Then pass along the information for the People to People Internship and Career Fair hosted by the College of Human Sciences Career Center and the College of Liberal Arts Career Center.

Body Image and Eating Disorder Awareness Week

February 25, 2013 marks the first day of a week long campaign to bring awareness to issues around body image and eating disorders. Have your student check outtheir website to see the list of the sponsors and to see the list of events happening throughout the week!

The 14th Annual Iowa State Conference on Race and Ethnicity (ISCORE) will be on March 1st from 8am-5pm in the Memorial Union. This event is open and free to the Iowa State University community and invited guests.

Cyclone Family Weekend

Do you want to be considered for “Family of the Year” for this upcoming Cyclone Family Weekend? Applicationsare being accepted through March 1st. Consider applying for this honor, or encouraging other Cyclone Families who deserve this recognition to apply.
