Student Volunteering Cardiff
Student Volunteering Cardiff (SVC) receives the UK quality standard for organisations working with Volunteers - Investing in Volunteers (IiV)
Student Volunteering Cardiff (SVC) has achieved the Investing in Volunteers (IiV) quality standard, in recognition for their excellent practice in working with volunteers.
'I know I speak on behalf of the whole team when I say that we are all delighted to renew the Investing in Volunteers (IiV) quality standard at Student Volunteering Cardiff. As a small, student-led, independent charity, we are continuously grateful for the hard-work and dedication we receive from our 500+ volunteers! The work SVC undertakes simply wouldn't exist without our incredible volunteers, and IiV is the perfect way of ensuring that our volunteers are supported, trained and recognised in every aspect of their work with SVC. Achieving IiV was definitely a team effort - therefore on behalf of SVC I would like to thank the Board of Trustees, the staff Team and all of our volunteers for their help and support through-out the process.' Adrienne Earls, SVC Manager.

SVC Ball 2016

Around 70 organisations in Wales have achieved Investing in Volunteers to date, with about half of these having renewed the award (which is valid for 3 years) at least once. There are more than 800 achieving organisations across the UK. The standard is also now available in the Republic of Ireland.
Student Volunteering Cardiff (SVC) was assessed against a range of best practice standards and proved its competence in all aspects of working with its volunteers.
'I was randomly selected by the IiV assessor to undertake a short interview about SVC and my experience of being an SVC volunteer. I have volunteered with SVC for almost three years and have always felt well supported, however it was a great opportunity to feedback about things which I felt worked really well, and also any ideas I had to make changes to the SVC Project I volunteer on.' 'I was honoured to be selected at random for an IiV interview for SVC. I think it's great that Student Volunteering Cardiff is committed to its volunteers and making continuous improvements. The successful result of SVC having renewed it's accreditation not only shows the dedication and enthusiasm of the team but also that the charity is moving in the right direction in a time of exciting change and opportunity. I'm proud to be part of the SVC family and look forward to another year volunteering.' SVC Like2Meet Volunteer.

Established 1971, Student Volunteering Cardiff (SVC) is an independent charity run by student volunteers from the three local Universities.
Our aim is to empower and enhance the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our local community. We achieve this by running over 25 volunteering projects across the City of Cardiff. Our projects support adults and children with disabilities, isolated older people, children and young people who are disadvantaged, young carers, adults with mental health conditions and homeless people. Additionally SVC works in partnership on Environmental and Community Safety Initiatives, aiming to make Cardiff a cleaner, greener and safer City.
