Student Life Assessment Personnel

It is a divisional responsibility to ensure that that all departments have operational plans, plans are implemented, assessments are conducted, results are reported, and insights from results are applied to continuous improvement efforts. Deans, department heads, departmental representatives on the Student Life Assessment Committee (SLAC), and those responsible for assessment in the division will work together to:

  1. Establish a cohesive and coordinated assessment program within every Student Life unit.
  2. Conduct departmental assessment projects based on departmental outcomes.
  3. Monitor and evaluate assessment efforts, including implementing feedback as appropriate on departmental assessment plans and activities.
  4. Engage in departmental reviews based on the Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS) guidelines.
  5. Develop mechanisms for monitoring the degree to which and the manner in which assessment results are being used to improve programs and services.
  6. Follow a standard format for departmental assessment reports that can be integrated into a Division of Student Life assessment report for the Judicious Stewardship/Institutional Effectiveness (JSIE) report that is used in the accreditation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
  7. Function as an assessment learning community that consistently advances its own learning and uses its acquired knowledge to counsel individuals and groups.
