Student Hostel for SIGCOMM 2013 Student Participants

To support student registrant to attend SIGCOMM 2013 conference, we have reserved some student hostel at International House Block 3 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong that the room rate is much lower than hotel.

Location: Student hostel at International House Block 3

Accommodation details:

-  All twin or triple rooms with an air-conditioner, a set of bedding including pillow, pillow case, quilt, quilt cover and filled sheet during the residence period.

-  Shared toilet and bathroom. Males and females will be allocated rooms in different floor.

-  Personal toiletries including toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, shower cap, razors, shower get, shampoo, towel and slippers are NOT provided.

-  CUHK Campus Wide Wifi will be available after registered to the Conference

-  Total amount of HK$ 1,300 per person for sharing room for the whole duration from 11 August 2013 to 17 August 2013 (6 nights)

-  Check-in to the rooms can only be done during 3:00pm to 9:00pm and check-out should be before 11:00am on 17 August 2013.

-  The rooms will be given in first-come first-serve basis and priority will be given to participants who are willing to share room.

Nearby restaurant:

-  The Basic Medical Sciences Building Snack Bar is located at less than 5 mins walk from the International House. It is serving Chinese and Western cuisine at budget price (around HK$ 20 for breakfast, HK$ 30-40 for lunch with drink) but the canteen normally close at 6pm.

Hostel Regulations:

  1. Occupants should return the key, access card and bedding pack when check-out. Guests should report any damage or lost of key, access card and bedding items to the Management Office and would be held responsible for any expenses incurred.
  2. The International House is not responsible for any injuries or deaths or property loss of occupants during the booking period. Occupants should keep their personal belongings safely.
  3. Occupants are responsible for any financial compensation incurred by the damage to or defacement of property of the International House.
  4. Occupants are not allowed to receive any overnight visitors. The College reserves the right to expel unauthorized occupants and offenders on the spot.
  5. Keys are not to be lent to any other persons.
  6. Occupants are not allowed to enter hostel premises for the opposite sex floors from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  7. Gambling in any forms is prohibited in the hostels.
  8. Hard liquid may neither be consumed nor kept in the hostels.
  9. All hostels property is to be used in situ. No property can be moved without permission.
  10. Occupants should not post any notices or decorate the venues and be responsible for the clearance of the aforementioned thereafter.
  11. Occupants should avoid making excess noises and should refrain from any disturbing behaviors. Volume of sound systems (e.g. radios and stereos) should be kept low, especially before 8:00 a.m. and after 11:00 p.m.
  12. If typhoon signal no. 8 or above, or BLACK rainstorm warning signal is hoisted, occupants that have not checked in can cancel the booking and apply for a refund.
  13. International House reserves the right to interpret and amend the general regulations without prior notice.

Application Procedures:

1.  Interested student please return the completed form to by 1 Jul 2013 Monday, 23:59 HKT (1 July is a public holiday in Hong Kong and we may not be able to answer any query)

2.  The rooms’ allocation result will be released on 3 Jul 2013 Wednesday and successful applicants will receive email notification.

3.  Successful applicants should pay for the room fees by 7 Jul 2013 Sunday, 23:59 HKT.

  1. You will be regarded as giving up the room place if we cannot receive the fee by the deadline and your place will be released to other applicants.
  2. The room fee is not refundable and transferable.
