SUBJECT:Student Council Elections
Congratulations on your child’s interest in serving the Oakland High School student body as a Student Council Class Officer or Executive Committee member! It is a privilege to be elected by your peers to serve as the student leader of each respective class.
Those elected are responsible for working collaboratively on various functions for Oakland High School and the entire student body. We encourage each applicant to consider the time commitment they accept by submitting an application and review the calendar of events for the upcoming year. Each member must be available for Wednesday morning meetings weekly from 7:30- 8:00 a.m. Attendance at these meetings is mandatory. Additional activities are required each month as shown on the calendar provided. Advance notice will be provided for all other activities.
As your child seeks a leadership position, they should understand that much responsibility is demanded. Consequently, they are expected to communicate with parents/guardians of each activity. As always we encourage parental involvement with Student Council to assist your child in making the upcoming school year a success.
Please make sure you review the entire application with your child, including the constitution. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us at anytime.
