CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE I
NAME

Section 1 / The name of this organization shall be The InterGroup CouncilAdvocates for Inclusion and Diversity through Education; hereinafter referred to as IGCAIDE.

ARTICLE II
MISSION

Section 1 / To unite The Ohio State University through initiatives and programs that enhance the student experience, promote social justice, inspire intergroup collaboration, and cultivate a welcoming campus climate.

ARTICLE III
MEMBERSHIP

Section 1 / All currently enrolled undergraduate students with a cumulative Point Hour Ratio of at least 2.50 shall be eligible to apply for membership in IGCAIDE.
Section 2 / IGCAIDE shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, religious creed, political views, sex, gender, sexual orientation, physical abilityor veteran status.
Section 3 / Any member who does not expect to meet the membership requirements for a current quartersemester may request Interim Status or take Inactive Status according to the By-Laws.

ARTICLE IV
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Section 1 / AnIGCAIDE member must be an undergraduateand maintain good standing. Undergraduate members in good standing may continue active membership in IGCAIDE through their graduation from The Ohio State University. Membership in IGCAIDE shall be based on the provisions of the By-Laws.
Section 2 / If a member does not fulfill the requirements for good standing, the Advisor shall initiate the membership guidelines as described in Article II, Section 4 of the By-Laws, warning them of their situation.

ARTICLE V
EXECUTIVE BOARD

Section 1 / The officers of IGCAIDE shall consist of at least aProgramming President, Organizational President, Director of Communications,Treasurer, andSecretary.
Section 2 / The Executive Board shall determine the goals and direction of the organization through on-going evaluations.The executive board shall hear problems, complaints and suggestions, generate possible constitutional amendments and initiate appropriate actions.
Section 3 / The term of office for all Executive Board members shall beone year. Incumbent Executive Board members must be elected to continue their offices after their term has expired.
Section 4 / No members of the Executive Board may hold more than one office.

ARTICLE VI
OFFICERS

Section 1 / The Programming President shall be responsible for keeping track of upcoming programs, communicating with others and requesting programs. The Programming President shall also help develop new Theprograms. The President shall also be responsible for leading meetings, writing weekly agendas and other organizational tasks. The President shall call and chair all IGCAIDE general and Executive Board meetings and act as therepresentative and spokesperson in all external functions. The responsibilities of the President also include setting the agenda for IGC general meetings and acting as the MCC Contact. The President shall maintain communication between The Multicultural Center, its Directors, the staff advisor to IGCAIDE, and Executive Board members. In the event of the loss, resignation, or removal of the Organizational President, the Programming President shall assume the position of the Organizational President.Secretary shall take on the role of President.
Section 2 / When the President is not able, the Vice President shall call and chair all IGC general and Executive Board meetings. The Vice President’s responsibilities also include recording meeting attendance, overseeing membership selections, and overseeing the Membership Advancement Plan.The Organizational President shall be responsible for leading meetings, writing weekly agendas and other organizational tasks. President shall call and chair all IGC general and Executive Board meetings and act as the representative and spokesperson in all external functions. The President shall maintain communication between The Multicultural Center, its Directors, the staff advisor to IGC, and Executive Board members. In the event of the loss, resignation, or removal of the Programming President, the OrganizationalVice President shall assume the position of the President.
Section 23 / The Secretary shall keep minutes of IGC meetings and shall be responsible for overseeing the upkeep of the IGC website and all publications.both E-Board and General IGCAIDE Meetings, take notes at all retreats and make sure to upload all notes to Dropbox, as well as send all agendas to members. The secretary shall also keep track of contact information for all IGCAIDE members. The secretary shall also be responsible for keeping track of volunteers for events., including Nourish YourSELF presentations.
Section 34 / The Treasurer shall be responsible for all IGCAIDE financial transactions, including making sure that all funds are used appropriately. The treasurer is also responsible for applying for both operating and programming funds each year. Also, the treasurer must attend treasurer training. A financial report and Executive Board approved budget must be presented to the IGCAIDE yearly in the Spring.

ARTICLE VII
ELECTIONS, AND APPOINTMENTS, and REMOVAL OF OFFICERS

Section 1 / Elections shall take place inSpringQuarterSemester, and shall be called by the President beginning with nominations during the fifth week of the quarter.. The new E-Board should be selected before the end of the last meeting of the year.
Section 2 / Election of officers shall be a two meeting process. At the first meeting, nominations for the office of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer will be taken from the floor. Any active member of IGCAIDE shall be eligible for to be on the E-Boardnomination. At the second meeting, nominations of these officers shall be reopened and elections will follow.
Section 3 / Elections shall be made in order of Programming President, Vice PresidentOrganizational President, Director of Communications, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Section 4 / Elections may be either verbal agrees orshall be by paper ballot, with a simple majority necessarytoelect an office. The form of voting shall be decided by a majority vote for either verbal agreements to the election of an office or paper ballots
With an excused absence, an absentee ballot will be accepted. No absentee ballot will be accepted after the start of elections.
Section 5
Section 6 / The term of office shall be one year beginning with a transitional period intheMay-mesterSpring Quarter following the election and ending with a transitional period in the following Spring May-mesterQuarter.
If an officer conducts themselves in such a manner deemed detrimental to advancing the purpose of this organization, is delinquent in performing their officer duties, or is in violation of the OSU Student Code of Conduct, they can be removed through a majority vote of the voting membership or unanimous vote of the other officers, with the consultation of the advisor.

Article VIII

Selection/Removal of Members

Section 1 / Those interested in becoming a member of IGCAIDE should fill out an application. The submitted application will be reviewed by the Executive Board and a decision will be made if membership is granted.
Section 2
Section 3 / Once an active member of IGCAIDE there will be no need to reapply. However, an individual’s membership may go under review if he or she fails to meet membership requirements.
If a member conducts himself or herself in such a manner deemed detrimental to advancing the purpose of this organization or is in violation of the OSU Student Code of Conduct, they can be removed through a majority vote of the other voting membership or unanimous vote of the officers, with the consultation of the advisor.

ARTICLE VIII
RULES OF ORDER

Section 1 / A simple majority of the whole membership shall constitute a quorum for voting purposes at a meeting of the entire IGCAIDE.

ARTICLE X
AMENDMENTS

Section 1 / The Constitution shall be amended by a 3/4 vote of theIGCAIDE, provided that a written notice of the proposed amendment is presented at least one meeting prior to the vote.
Section 2 / The By-Laws shall be amended by a simple majority in the same process as the Constitution.
Section 3 / No amendments to the Constitution shall take effect unless duly approved by the directors of The Ohio State University Multicultural Center.

ARTICLE XI
ADOPTION

Section1 / The Constitution shall be officially adopted upon its approval by a majority vote of those members in attendance and currently active in IGCAIDE for the following year. It shall take effect upon the granting of a charter or approval by the full time staff of The Ohio State University Multicultural Center.
