GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. This is the qualifying tournament to determine the Ontario Representative to the 2014 Juvenile Nationals. The tournament is open to all F.B.A.O. Registered Juvenile Teams, male and female. “The respective winning girl’s and boy’s teams would qualify for the Nationals Championships the following spring.” (B7.2.5.)
  1. “At the Junior Qualifying Tournament for the Nationals: any team prequalified for the National Championships, (i.e. Host, Defending Champs) must either participate in the qualifier or if they choose not to participate then all registered players on these teams will be declared ineligible for participation on any other team.” (B7.2.5)
  1. “JR. Provincials, teams pre-qualified for the Juvenile Nationals (i.e. Defending National Champs, Qualifier Champs, Hosts) must participate in Provincials. (B7.2.5)
  1. “F.B.A.O. Juvenile National Hosts Teams must be declared 7 days prior to the Qualifier Tournament.” (B7.2.5)
  1. “All participating teams must have qualified coaches as per Nationals Coaching Criteria.” (B7.2.5) “Juvenile – CBF Level 2 Certified.” (B7.2.5) If a team does not have a signed qualified team official for a game, a $50.00 fine will be levied.

6.Teams eligible to advance to the Nationals as a result of their standing in this Nationals Qualifying Tournament must meet the following requirements and Deadlines. “Junior Nationals’ entry fee ($750.00) and bond ($1000.00) to be in on Dec. 1st and cashed. “ (B7.7.8) This information must be received by F.B.A.O. President Gerry Wever 515 Gauscon St. Russell ON K4R 1C6 by the Deadline.

7. ZERO ALCOHOL TOLERANCE

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

1.The format for the tournament will be double knockout format. The draw of opponents will be made randomly.

2.Near the completion of the event, should back-to-back games have to be played, they will be played in accordance with the scheduling of the tournament committee.

TOURNAMENT RULES:

With regards to tournament rules, please note that Canadian Broomball Federation rules apply, plus the following amendments:

1.Each game will consist of two – 15 minute stop time periods. No change for Championship games.

2.FIGHT: the players involved will be ejected from the tournament

3. OVERTIME: NEW (2007) CBF FORMAT - 5 MINUTES – Sudden Death then OLD ( 2005) CBF FORMAT – Sudden Death

4Any team withdrawing from the Tournament will lose their entry fee and will also be dealt with by an F.B.A.O. Disciplinary Committee.

5.All scheduled games must be played unless mutually decided upon between involved teams and tournament organizers.

TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION:

1.Only complete entries will be accepted (completed entry form, roster and entry fee). The tournament entry fee is non refundable.

2.“A minimum of 11 registered players must be present at the beginning of the event, after this the team must have 6 players in order to be recognized as a team in a competitive event at the Championship” (Article 45 B)

3.No names can be added to the player’s list after the team’s first game. Therefore all players’ names must be on the roster sheet and game sheet but can register anytime.

4.Pick-up contracts must be registered with the team roster. For the pick-up players, the guidelines are those for regular tournament play, however, pick-up players must be from within the team’s category of play or below. Pick-up players must also be from the same region as the team picking them up. Junior Waiver forms are required for players not of juvenile age. Five (5) Pick-ups are allowed.

5.A Junior Player, who does not have an age category to play for within their Region of choice, must sign Junior Preferred Contract within that Region of choice. This Player would then be eligible to be picked up by a Junior aged team from another Region. This player would also be eligible to be picked up within their own preferred Region by an Adult team of that Region.

6.Team Entry, Registration & Eligibility will be VERIFIED by the Region prior to the event. Teams will be required to submit copies of their F.B.A.O. Team Registration Form for their team and also any pick-ups for the event before any registration can be done.

7.For the 2013/2014 season any Juvenile Team registration changes after November 22, 2013 must be done with/by a FBAO Addition/Deletion Form. Any players deleted from the originally submitted FBAO Team Registration Form at the Qualifier cannot be signed to another FBAO registered team. Also any player on a Juvenile Qualifier Roster as a Pick-up cannot be deleted from their original FBAO Team Registration submitted at the Qualifier to sign on another team as of November 22, 2013. All other Registration criteria remains the same.

8.ALL PARTICPANTS must have their contracts verified prior to their first game of the event. Contracts will be verified by participants presenting either appropriate Picture ID or two (2) pieces of identification with their signature on it. Participants will sign-in on their team roster form. Certified team official must provide proof of certification. There will be no exception to this rule.

9.B4.2.10: A participant in the Senior Provincials and/or Regionals and Junior Provincials and/or National Qualifier, must have one of two of the following qualifications as a prerequisite in playing

  1. The player must be signed and be actively participating in an Ontario Broomball Program recognized by the FBAO and as approved by the respective Regional Executive.
  2. The player must be a permanent resident of the Province of Ontario.

10.The F.B.A.O., its Representatives, the Referees and Town of Innisfil are not liable for injury or loss incurred at this event.
