Streamsong Resort- An Amazing Experience!

Located in what most would say the “Middle of nowhere”, Streamsong Resort is located 27-miles South of Lakeland, a community in Central Florida. The Mosaic Company, a phosphate company and the world’s leading crop nutrition company, based in Plant City, Florida, developed the property.

The topography of the course is surrounded with large sand dunes, clear blue lakes, an abundance of elevation changes and plush vegetation. If you did not know you were in Florida, you would think you were playing a course in Scotland.

Currently there are two courses designed by Tom Doak (Streamsong Blue) and Coore/Crenshaw (Streamsong Red). A third course, Streamsong Black designed by Gil Hanse’s team, will debut in the Autumn of 2017.

The courses intertwine with each other, yet have their own distinctness. The Blue course is known for its multiple elevation changes, towering sand dunes and lush wild vegetation. The Red used the natural landscape to create a course surrounded with native sand bunkers, beautiful large lakes and winding fairways.

Walking the course with a caddie is required from January 1-April 15. Although this may seem difficult, you are so amazed with the beauty of the surroundings, you will want to play more once you finish your round.

From the moment you arrive at Streamsong, you are treated like Royalty. The Resort includes accommodations in the Lodge (216 spacious guestrooms and suites), and in the Clubhouse (12 Guestrooms). The staff is very attentive and eager to make your stay spectacular.

The rooms in the Lodge allow you to either enjoy the sunset or sunrise. They are large rooms with a separate living and sleeping area with floor-to-ceiling glass. Clubhouse guestrooms overlook the courses. Downstairs from the rooms you will find the golfshop, 19th-hole (with indoor and outdoor dining) and the resort’s Steakhouse, Restaurant Fifty-Nine.

Two other restaurants, SottoterraRistorante (Florida Trend’s 2014 Golden Spoon Award for Best New Restaurant) and P205 (Casual dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner) are located within the Lodge.

We dined at SottoterraRistorante, where the presentation, service and taste were outstanding. The Pan seared scallops with Capellini pasta and Hazelnut pesto was very flavorful and the scallops were seasoned perfectly and very tender. My husband chose the Veal OssoBuco with Broccolini, Truffle Risotto and Gremolata is a house specialty and did not disappoint. The veal was tender and savory as it melted in your mouth.

There was a great selection of wines, which were very reasonably priced and not typical of resort pricing.

Enjoy after dinner drinks upstairs at Fragmentary Blue with breathtaking 360 degree views of the property from the rooftop terrace and bar. Inside you will find a sports bar atmosphere with a large bar and several large screen televisions. The outside terrace has comfortable sofas to wind down and enjoy the sunset.

Not a golfer? Guided bass fishing, sporting clays, archer and a fantastic spa are available to fit your lifestyle.

Don’t miss the chance to experience Streamsong before the world descends. You will not be disappointed with your stay!
