STRAND SELECON ACCLAIM 4 INCH FRESNEL SPECIFICATION.

GENERAL.

A.) Overview.

1.) The 650W Acclaim Fresnel shall comply with the following performance specifications when using a FRK (CP89) 650W, 120V lamp:

a.) Beam angle (defined as 2:1 variation from centre peak) Spot – 6 degree, Wide Flood – 60 degree.

b.) Spot angle – 6 degree, 44,000 Candela.

c.) Flood angle – 60 degree, 5,200 Candela.

2.) The Fresnel shall be a purpose-built fixture designed for interior stage, studio and display lighting applications. The lamp house of the Fresnel fixture shall have rounded corners and edges with no sharp edges. It shall be constructed from aluminum and engineering plastics.

3.) The sides of the Fresnel fixture shall be constructed from extruded aluminum for strength, lower weight and no noise during the expansion and contraction period when the Fresnel fixture is heating up. Sides constructed from sheet metal shall not be accepted. Ventilation of the Fresnel fixture shall be maximized by not less than five convection slots running the entire length of the lamp house.

4.) The front and rear of the Fresnel fixture shall be constructed from high temperature and impact resistant engineering plastic moldings for strength, lower weight and no noise during the expansion and contraction period when the Fresnel fixture is heating up. Front and rear castings constructed of metal shall not be accepted.

5.) There shall be a rear grab handle mounted on the rear of the Fresnel fixture. The grab handle shall be constructed from high heat and impact resistant engineering plastic, and shall have a warning label formed as an integral part of the handle.

6.) There shall be a cable connector compartment located on the outside back molding of the Fresnel fixture. The power supply cable shall be terminated in this compartment and not in the main body of the fixture. For ease of service it shall be possible to gain access to the interior of the cable connector compartment by the removal of three screws and the cable connector compartment cover.

7.) The Fresnel shall incorporate an integral safety cable that can be retracted into the fixture when not in use. The safety cable shall be rated for the weight of the fixture.

8.) The Fresnel beam will have a soft edge with minimal spill.

9.) The Fresnel shall use a four-inch Fresnel lens, mounted inside the fixture secured with stainless steel spring "T" clips. These clips shall hold the lens in position and allow for movement caused by heat expansion.

10.) The Fresnel shall have a spherical reflector, manufactured from 99.99% super pure aluminum anodized and polished to provide a pure specular reflector.

11.) The lens and reflector shall be quickly accessed for cleaning in the lamp housing by means of a side hinged bottom tray held closed with a sprung "push in" finger locking clip.

12.) The focus system shall comprise of the lamp base and reflector assembly moving in relation to the fixed lens. The focus action shall be direct slide action on machined brass bearings to minimize vibration. The focus fastening system shall be by a simple heat resistant low maintenance screw knob.

13.) The fixture shall be designed for use with a 650W lamp using a GY 9.5 lamp socket. Access to the lamp assembly shall be via a hinged bottom tray. A lever will be fitted as part of the lamp socket to facilitate easy and safe removal of the lamp.

14.) Relamping shall be possible without having to change the focus position of the fixture.

15.) Suitable lamps for the unit shall be:

a.) 650W FRK 16,900 lumens 200hrs average life.

b.) 650W FRE 15,000 lumens 400hrs average life.

16.) When the lamp tray is opened mains power shall automatically be disconnected ensuring it is not possible to fit a lamp into a live socket.

17.) Tilt adjustment shall be by means of a screw lock system secured by a hand sized insulated "T" handle which also allows one hand adjustment. The yoke position shall be adjustable along the length of the fixture.

18.) The fixture is provided with a formed aluminum yoke with a central hole for a 1/2 inch suspension bolt set comprising 1/2 inch set screw, nut and two washers.

19.) The four-leaf Barndoor accessory shall be constructed from high heat and impact resistant engineering plastic and lightweight steel sheet for each leaf. It shall be possible to rotate the barndoor leaves 360 degrees to facilitate the beam masking. The leaf tension shall be adjustable to suit the operator's preference. The barndoor shall have safety chain anchor points provided which are integral to the barndoor mounting plate. A safety lock spring is to be provided to securely attach this to the fixture when in use.

20.) Provision must be made for the fitting of a standard DIN plate.

21.) The fixture shall comply with international safety standards and be ETL / cETL listed to UL standard 1573.
