Personal Narrative
stories of life lessons, fallings, and hero’s journeys
Think of a meaningful story in your life. What event caused you to learn a life lesson or hard truth? What day did you come into surprising knowledge about the adult world? What journeys have you gone on where you’ve learned something about yourself that you didn’t know?
The incident you choose need not be very dramatic. It just needs to be meaningful to you and well captured.
Papers will be graded according to the qualities of a great narrative we will study over the next week:
1)a specific incident
2)use of specific details
3)use of direct quotes and thoughts
4)exploration of theme or lesson
Papers should be at least two pages – Times New Roman 12
