Course Description: Psychology is the study of the behavior and mental processes. There are multiple theories in the study of Psychology. Psychology examines moods, memory, reactions, attitudes, perceptions and attraction. We will look at how you can understand and manage the intrinsic connection between the mind and body.

Note:

This course covers material that may not have been covered in prior courses. It requires maturity and tolerance which are crucial for this class. The ability to accept others point of view politely is required.

Expectations:

Tardiness is handled per the Stewart Creek High School handbook. I close the door as soon as the bell rings. If you are late, you will be expected to obtain a tardy pass.

Do not wait on me to tell you take out your notebook.

ALWAYS BE PREPARED FOR CLASS!

Bathroom breaks- I will give them to you if you do not abuse the privilege! If you are found to be in a place other than the restroom, your privileges for bathroom breaks will be discontinued for the semester.

Be respectful- of your classmates and me. I will be your strongest advocate, but I do have a job to do that can be of value to you in college and in life. If you disrupt class and waste time this is not respectful to any of us, especially yourself.

Grades:

Quizzes…………up to 25 points

Tests…………….100

Classroom work- this can vary in points.

Projects………up to 100 points

Grades on projects are individually based and vary in points.

Every day we will have bell work. It is expected that you will do this and I will check it.

Supplies Needed:

3 Ring Binder with dividers- Just one section for Psychology.

Composition book for bell ringer activities daily

3 x 5 Notecards-required

Pens/Pencils

Notebook paper

Expectations:

Always come to class prepared with pen/pencil and paper.

If you are going to be out for a field trip come and see me to get your work prior to absence.

Not doing your work is NOT an option!

Be respectful of others in the classroom.

Your opinion is not the only one….it is one of many!
