Instructor in Cross-Cultural Communication, Linguistics, English Grammar, Second Language Acquisition, and courses on Islam, Extensions of UC Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz: Courses for the Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language and the CLAD program. This has included teaching these courses in the joint ESL certificate programs in Cairo, Egypt in the summer of 2004 and in Jinju, South Korea in the summer of 2005.

DISSERTATION

"The First Story of Joseph in Turkic Islamic Literature: A Study in Acculturation"

This dissertation concerns a thirteenth century epic poem, its placement in the context of Islamic Civilization and an axiological analysis of the poem from the point of view of the acculturation of the Turks as they came into the Near East.
