INFORMATION SHEET FOR GLOBAL SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP STEERING COMMITTEE APPLICANTS
STEP’s Global Special Interest Groups (SIGs) exist to support professional development and deepening of networks in focussed areas of STEP practice on an international basis.
SIGs offer their members the chance to network with other members with whom they have a shared specialism, to discuss the subject and advance their knowledge in the area.
Before applying for Global SIG Steering Committee membership, please familiarise yourself with the Global SIG Terms of Reference, as well as the responsibilities and obligations you would undertake as a Global SIG Steering Committee member. The Global SIG Terms of Reference are of particular importance for this purpose as they set forth the rules and guidance on all matters relating to the running, governance and operation of special interest groups, to include detail on committee membership and the election process. These documents can be found at:

· Information sheet and personal statement demonstrating desire to assume, and suitability for, role. Include any involvement with STEP and the special interest group field
Information sheet and personal statement will be distributed to voters should you be successfully put forward for election. The information should be laid out on an A4 page. It should include a statement of no more than 300words (no stipulations over written content). Please provide information sheet in a Microsoft Word format. Please do not include a photograph.

Please provide a short information sheet (‘Election statement’) about yourself which will be distributed to voters should you be successfully put forward for election.
The information should be laid out on a separate A4 page (comprising no more than 300 words). Whilst there are no stipulations over content or layout for this information sheet, it is recommended to provide a personal statement detailing your reasons for wishing to join the steering committee, your suitability (relevant skills and experience), and what you hope to be able to contribute. Please do not include a photograph on the page.

It is suggested that you:
a. Provide evidence of your general knowledge of the field and competence in the scope (work) of the committee.
b. Address what your specific relationship is to one or more elements of the scope of work of the committee.
