SUMMARY:

The function of the Die Cast personnel is to meet the production, quality and safety standards established for his/her position. Additionally, the Die Cast position will be responsible for the upkeep and safe operations of any area of the plant they are assigned, and to contribute to the smooth function of the department’s and company’s operation. Occasionally, he/she will perform other duties and responsibilities assigned to him/her by the management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years production experience.

REQUIREMENTS and CONDITIONS:

  • The sense of sight, colors, speech (English), and hearing are required.
  • The physical requirements are standing or walking within the plant areas, bending, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to tolerate above average temperature and humidity levels.
  • Most of the time will be spent in a non-smoking plant environment, with noise moderate and with above-average temperature and humidity and moderate levels of non-toxic fumes. Will work with low level abrasive fluids or chemicals, such as lacquer thinner, etc. Additional time may be spent throughout the plant in various departments doing fill in relief work as required.
  • The normal workday will be from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional hours on Saturday or later in the day as necessary when specific projects are due.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following requirements and duties are considered essential to the Die Cast position. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time-to-time at the discretion of management.

  • Perform the Die Cast operations per the work instructions. Responsible to oversee the smooth and successful integration of all activities between the Die Cast and other related departments.
  • Meet the production schedule on-time delivery rate.
  • Meet established labor standards & work according to a Department Schedule.
  • Assure corrective action takes place as defects in tooling or product are discovered.
  • Research and compose viable corrective actions when given an ICAR by a downstream department.
  • Inspect product as indicated on the Quality Plan.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and safe operation of all equipment in the Die Cast area.
  • Generate VEs that provide value to the department and the company.
  • Responsible to know, understand and practice all safety and handling policies and procedures associated with the Die Cast areas of the plant.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies in a timely manner to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Responsible for all activities in the Die Cast area and for the upkeep (general cleaning & maintenance) and safe operations of the Die Cast area of the plant.
  • Follow all government and company policies relating to safety, health, and environment.
  • Must be able to remain focused on his/her work to reduce errors.
  • Must be a conscientious, quality minded worker who strives for superior performance.
  • Must possess the ability to successfully communicate with their supervisor, fellow employees and support others as a team player.
  • Responsible for completing scheduled training programs and must attend meetings, as requested, to keep informed on matters that affect the successful performance of his/her job.
  • Must exhibit good judgment in reporting and resolving problems that arise and complete corrective action form when required.

Displays continued safe work habits and adheres to practices.
  2. Quality: Evaluates employee’s work quality and accuracy in support of ISO 9001. Support and achieve company goals. Provide input and response to customer non-conformances. Implement effective corrective actions and show continuous improvement. Support of Customer to Customer quality. Identify ICAR’s in your work tasks to ensure identification of added costs and time in making the product.
