PROJECTEach student will prepare a detailed plan for intervention in some particular STD problem, either domestic or international. The plan will be described in a 6-8 page (double-spaced) paper to be turned in at the beginning of the class period on 6-3. The class periods on, 5-27, 6-1 and 6-3 will be devoted to oral presentations by the students of their intervention plans, with subsequent discussion by the class (35% of grade).
STD EDITORIAL/ LETTEREach student will prepare an 300-500-word concise editorial on a current STD/HIV policy related topic under consideration at the state, county or city level and based on the position taken in the editorial write and send a letter in support or opposition to that policy (15% of grade).
TAKE-HOME FINALEach student complete a take-home final covering the concepts presented in the course. The final is due at 12 Noon on Thursday, June 11(50% of grade).
