Summary
This WP is the report of the Subject Matter Expert about the status of the Proposed Defect Reports (PDRs) related to Doc 9705 All Editions Sub-Volume II (Air-ground ATN Applications).
This WP contains :
–the status of all SubVolume II PDRs issued by the ATNP CCB since its creation,
–a resolution proposal to close all the open PDRs (4).
SGN/2 and CCB are invited to review the PDRs presented in this WP and to confirm the SME2 team recommendations.

3OPEN PDRs REQUIRING CCB DECISION
3.198040007: Invalid list of allowed APDUs in D-START cnf
In 1998, during validation of Doc 9705 Edition 1, an error in the air DFIS protocol entity was detected and documented in PDR 98040007. Because the error occurs only in the rare case where the ground-user does not behave correctly, it was decided to not modify the FIS protocol specification and wait the specification of the next version. The PDR was moved to the FORWARDED status and has never been re-open.
The PDR proposes a simple correction to the SARPs. The behavior of the ground-user is monitored by the FIS-ground-ASE. The ground-user is prohibited from invoking an update contract request before invoking the update contract response. In case the ground-user tries to invoke this primitive, a local error is generated.
The changes have been discussed and endorsed by SGN/2 (see WP WGN/2 WP02 "Proposed Resolution Of PDR98040007").
The CCB is requested to move the PDR status from FORWARDED to RESOLVED.
3.2M1030003 Frequency Definition and Extensibility Markers
The CPDLC ASE does not support the transfer (encoding and decoding) of VDLM3 frequencies. This issue is identified in the Future Work Program of SGN2.
The CCB is requested to move the PDR status from FORWARDED to WITHDRAWN.
3.3M2010001 Sending both arrival and departure ATIS in a single DFIS report
The DFIS ASE does not support the sending in a single DFIS report of both a departure DATIS report and an arrival DATIS report, as it is instructed to do when it receives a request for a combined ATIS and the combined ATIS is not available. This issue is identified in the Future Work Program of SGN2.
The CCB is requested to move the PDR status from FORWARDED to WITHDRAWN.
3.4M2030004 ICAO Edition 3 Editorials
This PDR traces all editorial fixes to Edition 3Doc 9705 (all sections).
The CCB is asked to keep the PDR status as PROPOSED untiol the publication of the next amendment to Edition 3 or of Edition 4.
