Per requirements under the Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140), the following information is hereby posted.
The Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation District, under the Soil and Water Conservation Districts Act as amended, provides for the conservation of the soil, soil resources, water and water resources of this State; for the control and prevention of soil erosion; for the prevention of air and water pollution; and for the prevention of erosion, floodwater and sediment damages, and thereby to conserve natural resources; control floods; prevent impairment of dams and reservoirs; assist in maintaining the navigability of rivers and harbors; conserve wildlife and forests; protect the tax base; protect public lands; protect from rapid shifts in land use from agricultural to nonagricultural uses, changes in farm enterprises, operations, ownership, construction of housing, industrial and commercial developments, streets, highways, recreation areas, schools, colleges, and universities, and other land disturbing activities; and protect and promote the health, safety and general welfare of the people of this State.

The Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation District Board meet the first Thursday of each month.
JCSWCD FEES: Per the FOIA legislation, JCSWCD can charge fees for the cost of making copies. For black and white, letter or legal sized copies (8 ½ x 11 or 11x17), the first 50 pages are free and any additional pages can cost no more than $.15 per page. For color copies or abnormal size copies, the public body can charge the actual cost of copying.
