Exquisite welding quality, innovative operating concept
MicorMIG scores high with flexibility and suitability for future applications
The new MIG-MAG all-rounder exhilarates users
Lorch's latest MicorMIG series is the product highlight at Euroblech 2014. The superior welding quality and innovative, easy-to-master operating concept of the MIG-MAG all-rounder manages to win over not only the visitors attending the fair but also users across all kinds of different industries. Unanimous user verdict: Not only does the MicorMIG set a new standard in MIG-MAG welding, but it also represents a milestone in terms of flexibility and suitability for future applications thanks to its painless upgradability.
"Switch on and produce welding results of unsurpassed quality", thus the conclusion of a great number of welders after using Lorch's latest MIG-MAG inverter generation. Users focus in unison on the system's outstanding welding characteristics, regardless of whether these are applied to steel, stainless steel and aluminium or thin or thick sheets of metal (using mixed gas or CO2). Users were particularly impressed with the stability of the arc, allowing them to focus the arc energy directly into the weld without producing hardly any spatter. This cuts down the time required for reworking to the absolute minimum. Another positive aspect that is of particular importance during day-to-day use is the low weight (just above 50 kilograms for the entry model) and the robust housing.
Users have found the dynamic control to be a feature of particular value during their everyday work routines. It allows the welder to adjust the arc until it fits his specific needs perfectly. Varying with the operating panel used, the arc can be adjusted from soft to hard across stages ranging from three to 21. Users were equally dazzled by the built-in crater filling option. This powerful feature, which can be enabled with the push of a button on the operating panel, lets welders achieve a perfect weld all the way through and avoid the crater typically forming at the end of the weld.
Apart from the consistently high welding current across all types of applications, the perfect weld appearance and the low power consumption, user companies are praising in particular how easy the new MIG-MAG all-rounder is to use. A push of a button is all it takes to launch the various programs and jobs welders can perform with the MicorMIG series. Companies can select from a total of three different operating variants depending on what their specific requirements are: Basic, BasicPlus and ControlPro. All three of these operating concepts follow the same overall operating logic. This means than those who start with the Basic version will be able to seamlessly upgrade to the "more sophisticated" BasicPlus and ControlPro as they require no learning curve. The ControlPro model included in the MicorMIG boasts a 21-stage dynamic control as well as a Tiptronic jog management capable of storing up to 100 welding jobs. What is more, it has never been easier to adjust a welding machine to the ever increasing challenges posed by today's welding tasks. Since they can be added later by uploading, productivity-enhancing welding processes (such as SpeedArc), individual welding programs (for instance, devised for stainless steel or aluminium) and functions easing the welder's workload (job management) ensure the system's suitability for future applications.
"Lorch's MicorMIG product line has become the new gold standard for infinitely variable welding systems thanks to its intelligent arc control technology, the easy-to-grasp operating concept and the full-protection MF-08 feeder case, allowing the products to easily surpass what any conventional transformer system can offer", says Jan Eistetter, product manager at Lorch Schweißtechnik GmbH, in summarising the unique profile of the latest MIG-MAG generation.
Three power variants – another model will follow in 2015
The entire MicorMIG family is EN 1090-certified and comprised of members that offer 300, 350 or 400 amperes of power. MicorMIG 350 models and greater are equipped with a robust industrial housing with extra-wide chassis. Supplementing the compact system with integrated wire feed, which is characterised by such handy details as the lighting inside the wire feed compartment, a roll exchange that requires no tools and colour-coded feed rolls that allow the operator to change the wire quickly and properly, we are offering the MicorMIG in combination with the full-protection MF-08 feeder case, which is suitable for use in manholes and keeps welding perfectly effortless even in the most complicated of situations thanks to its numerous handle options. Arriving in the spring of 2015, a 500 ampere power option, offering the same EN 1090 certification, will round out our family of MicorMIG products.
